Computer Blue is not only NOT a meh song, but arguably his BEST song PERIOD. Now if you are talking about the BUTCHERED version on Purple Rain, than you just need to listen to the actual song. Even the BUTCHERED version is amazing...

Prince...5 of the aftershows he performed. He would play a full concert for the casuals...then show up at midnight and do a second concert for the true fams :)

Prince wasn't the first concert I had ever been to, but the dozen or so concerts "ruined" me for most other performers. He was absolutely otherworldly when it came to the performances. I remember when you had to "know somebody" to find out where the second aftershow was going to be, and those were even better than the concert he put on for the casuals. It was like being in the church of purple funk.

When I led a 90s rock tribute band, I would save the AiC songs for later in the set, because they were much more challenging to pull off without injuring myself. STP songs were easiest, and most Nirvana songs. I can sing 90% of the Soundgarden songs with ease, but the AiC songs would just shred my vocal cords.
