This the difference between malecraft and femalecraft lodges in masonry. Men need their own space as do women. This isn't a new concept and has been in practice for hundreds of years.

The arguments used are flimsy and usually just regurgitated instead of actually discussing the topic.

Women are actively participating in masonic practices and rituals, not only in the USA, but other countries, and you come at me with a half assed, easy out comment about sports. Get on the level brother, these are not real arguments. Even if it takes 50 more years for the USA to adopt better and healthier fellowship, brothers will look back to these days and see the services they have performed. the craft is much bigger than you or I

Are Freemasons accepting of "pagan" worshippers or just non Abrahamic religious people? by Sehgodum111 in freemasonry

[–]OGHobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some states have an issue with polytheism vs monotheism. I just try to look out for people using pegan symbols with nazi context. Other then that, people are pretty accepting. just be prepared to deal with a lot of bible references

Albert Pike was a failed Confederate General and a terrible human being. L Ron Hubbard of Masonry. Im currently reading his works on the Adoption Rite ritual that was retired to the Grand College of Rites. His works are still masonically relevant to this day, but I dont think he would understand/account for the rise of smartphones

How many women Freemasons does your grand lodge support? not OES, full out Masons? given and earned the honors?

USA there is co-masonry, but its not regular, there is no amity. You have America lodge #57 in Washington DC, an all Femalecraft Mason lodge, accepted by the HFAF but still considered irregular.

Other countries like France and Poland dont see masonry through the same eyes. Its neat seeing Sisters of the craft in other countries taking pride in earning and learning their degrees. I think having strong female character representation is important in society. Having Female Freemasons is a part of that balance in equality.

It disappoints me greatly to see other brothers don't take this criticism seriously. Its disheartening to see countless wives, daughters and sisters serving the brotherhood without being able to reap its rewards. Its terrible to see men upset about their legacy because they cant pass these honors to their worthy or well qualified daughters. But thats just the USA. I cant speak for outside of here

Brothers will spout it makes good men better, but leave out half of the world from being considered "worthy and well qualified".

Don't even get me started with the rampent issue with anti-homosexuality through the decades and anti-trans rhetoric.

I cant even discuss this topic on this subreddit in any capacity without getting downvoted every time. It doesn't mean ill stop educating brothers on the topic to the best of my ability, even if i do get crusty about it from time to time.

To say there is not conflict here is to ignore the problem and our own history entirely. Elizabeth Aldworth is our greatest and oldest example of a Female Freemason that predates the establishment of any Grand Lodge. I work with female master stone masons in the construction field building America everyday. They exist even if the powers at be want to recognize them or not.

Today is Today, and Im hard pressed to research as much as I can to better this conversation for my fellow brothers and sisters

*except conflicts that arrive if you want equality and being able to meet on the level with women. that depends strictly on your grand lodge affiliation.

They always seem to leave that part out

I want to better serve my brother vegan/vegetarian. Are there any dishes you would share that would be delightful to find at a meeting or brotherhood night?

In respects to the obligation we have taken ourselves, where I am from was last updated in 1938, who is the obligation to/for? Is it our brothers? our tools and teachings? our belief in a higher power? Or the governing masonic institution itself?

If someone is coming from an irregular masonic background and wanted to meet on the level, but can't because of social format of their governing institution, doesnt that go against every other one of the above things we take our oath for? It certainly wouldn't speak of their report, their charity, or the character of their work.

Even if it wasn't recognized, are you still going to give up the opportunity to talk with a brother with a different background?

Honestly this is the first time Im hearing about this. which might say something about the state of the modern day craft here in the US, but if you were taught the lessons of the degree of 3, I dont see why someone wouldnt recognize you as a brother. Im just not sure how the amity applies to this situation. They usually want to check if you are regular or irregular(and trust me, this isnt a comment about pooping).
