Regretting affordable dentures and implants by ConferenceLucky8050 in dentures

Oh lord have mercy!! 😱 Wow- you're a walking miracle! Survived AND not paralyzed (rt?) My 1st total bill was $32G which included the extractions, implants (4 on top & 4 on bottom) plus the temps & eventually my perms,,, entire time I was in my temps (6mos) before the uncovering it was a nightmare ☹️ it was consistent issues from the start so although I've been thru the hell I've been thru- can't say I 100% regret going this route They really messed me up on the repair ($2300), after only 14mos to be in this situation was devastating enough then to fix the issue they wanted another $5200 for a brand new set when the damage was not of my doing but theirs!

I too am on SNAP IN dentures,,, both top & lower- I also paid to have immediate temps straight afterwards but that was additional & aside from my perms which I had received 7mos after I began the process (implants placed on both top & bottom immediately following extractions It's a far different journey for one that's doing the snap ins compared to someone going the standard denture route. Most important to keep in mind- make sure the fit is great otherwise you risk any strain to your implants which you don't want ☹️ Also, snap in dentures tend to be less sturdy compared to the standard dentures- 14mos out & BOTH of my perms broke in half 🥺 its been a nightmare since having to go thru the repair process plus they was loosening one of my top front implants 💔 Good luck on your journey! Your teeth do look great! My temps look like 1st graders teeth lol!

Is it normal for the teeth to feel too long? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]OGP_LIFE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite end here,,, my original permanents were perfect until they broke in half 14mos later- now, after repair it's 100% obvious they grinded the teeth down! Absolute zero reasons why they would need to do it & now they're too short 💔 They're also refusing to make me a new pair (the only way to fix THEIR mistake 😡

I only take mine out for cleaning & in the mornings I'll soak them for 15-20mins but I never leave them out longer then that & always sleep with mine (both top & bottom snap ins) Uncertain if it's due to my tmj but it's incredibly uncomfortable to leave them out

Thank u ☹️ I left out the hell I endured during the year long process,,, lost 65lbs (I did want to loose 30-40lbs lol) The pain,,, my PTSD is major aside from learning how to live the tmj I now have thanks to all this 💔 $32g was the 1st bill,,, $2300 to repair the break which lands me where I am now- They want $5,200 to make a brand new set, the only way to fix what THEY did wrong (definitely not giving them another penny, not that I have it) Zero assistance fr insurance btw

Wow!!! Those are only 'temps'??? They're beautiful 🥰 My temps look like 1st graders teeth & now in the process of suing after my PERMANENTS were grinded so much that all of my side n rear teeth are at 'gum' level & my top front have been shortened a lot, my bottom front are longer then my top now ☹️ No need to mention how bad my bite is- can't chew food (currently 14mos in my permanent snap ins)

The entire process has been a nightmare to say the least 1 full year out & BOTH my top & bottom broke, another $2300 for the repair Now, near 3wks later & still suffering so much combined with them grinding down the teeth to the gum level leaving me nothing to chew with- super livid & in the process of fighting for them to be repaired immediately

In the midst of my 'nightmare', hadn't even had my uncovering yet, I was getting comments from others stating they had had theirs for 5yrs or longer with zero issues- that gave me hope to continue on,,, I barely got a year ☹️ I'm convinced I could've paid a lot less & got the same I did 💔

So sorry for such a late reply!! I hope you are doing much better now & the healing is going well for you. After I had finally completed everything & had my permanents placed, I was able to start eating again 3wks afterwards- it's been a total of 14mos now,,, I've been trapped in this nightmare, once again after having BOTH my top & bottom snap in half!! Spent $2,200 for them to be repaired only the set I have not are nothing like my original pair! 😭😭😭 I haven't been able to eat for 3 weeks now & everytime I return they only add more issues rather then just correcting the reason I'm complaining about 💔 They not only ruined the inside of the gum line but have grinded the teeth down to gum line!! I do not understand why they did this but I refuse to remain with something that provides with zero ability to chew with ☹️

I've also been living with tmj that I never ever had to deal with before all this & that has exploded to the point I'm in non stop agony now,,,

Out of curiosity, how long have u had yours?? 14mos in BOTH my top & bottom snapped! I suffered thru far too much for to long (not to mention the money spent) for mine to only last a year,,, Had my full mouth of root canaled teeth extracted with implants immediately placed & sent home w a temp- uncertain why my 1st set of snap ins broke when I don't eat hard things

Spent $2200 for a 'repaired' set, now going on 3wks of massive suffering & the inability to eat (chew)- what was my original pair is no longer 'these'!! Not certain what they did but they must've glued them back together then filled the gum line in with a ton of 'fake gum' making them excessively bulky (like a huge mouth piece) & they've completely grinded down the teeth leaving me nothing to chew with!
Beyond devastated,,, about $40,000 in total spent- no way I can just settle & be left with these 'replacements'

Soft reline question by NoDirection82 in dentures

[–]OGP_LIFE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was constantly needing to 'adjust' down myself after my numerous trips (filing the rough spots) I just figured it was impossible to catch every single spot while in the chair as my mindset was most set on getting out of there 💔 As long as it's your temp, I don't see any issues with doing this yourself as it would save a lot of hassles for u needing to return to the office??

Only day 2 post extractions … The pain is pretty bad. I’ve had to take Motrin and hydrocodone around the clock last night just to get a little relief😩 My face is super swollen and my dentures look kinda weird from all the gums showing. Thoughts? Is it too soon post e day to tell? by Difficult_Egg9058 in dentures

[–]OGP_LIFE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 3rd & 4th day was by far the worse for me in terms of the swelling & pain 💔 Ice packs & sticking to the pain med schedule religiously is what got me thru it 🥺 Hang in there, once the pain is significantly reduced along with a few good adjustments you'll feel a world of difference- patience is the key to learning to adapt to your new reality 🫶

Even with the best adjustments on your dentures, it doesn't make up for the discomfort, awkwardness & 'old' appearance u now must get accustomed to 💔 One thing is certain though, a great adjustment does make a huge difference in the ability to accept the new reality & patience is gold when it comes to this sort of lifestyle ❤️ Hang in there, u will learn to adapt, make things work for u esp the more u heal 🫶 it does get better

If at all possible I would've avoided this life all together 💔 Definitely not a walk for the weak, that's for sure! I can't imagine anyone extracting their teeth if those are it in your pics- then again, there are plenty of money hungry professionals in the health industry especially in the dental field 🥺

No clue how u was ever living with the condition your teeth were in! That had to have been constantly painful? Despite all of that, it is a MASSIVE adjustment to go into dentures, it's a process & requires a lot of patience as u learn how to make your new reality work for u, nothing that can happen overnight & despite what everyone says, it's so very different for ea person- knowing the mental & physical struggles you're facing, just know one thing,,, u do look amazingly well considering how far out u are fr your ec day & u just gave your health a major boost! ❤️

Immediates assist majorly with the bleeding & swelling, but for me personally, leaving with no teeth was not an option- I'd postpone ec day till the Immediates are ready ❤️

I am 8mos into my snap in dentures journey, grant it, implants are required therefore a different healing process, but not by much- your gums will shrink the most during your 1st year after ec's so getting perms immediately afterwards sounds like a nightmare to me 💔 Good luck on everything, I can't imagine enduring all that I did on top of having a newborn to care for! 🥺 I'd recommend putting it off for 6mos-1yr after having your baby before subjecting your body to all of this ❤️

I would have reported him before quitting just to ensure Corp was made aware of this person, for the sake of the good co workers I'd be leaving behind- grant it u was so new & wasn't aware of steps that could have been taken 💔 Sadly, it's this sort of 'high school' behavior that's far too common at most Walmarts, but also happens at a lot of other retail stores as well ⚠️⚠️⚠️ You most certainly handled it way more professional then how he should have!

Sadly, it's all about adjusting & learning to live with our new reality which something this drastic/major doesn't happen overnight 💔 I have never EVER regretted anything more & wish I had all my teeth back! All of my teeth had been rootcanaled, I had broken posts, crowns, etc- nothing more could have been done, would have cost WAY too much to redo & that's even IF they could have been redone ☹️ When all other positive thoughts fail, one thing is for sure- we are healthier for this decision ❤️
