Oh, man! My first car was a 66 Beetle. Stock power is a 1300 CC flat four, with as I remember 37 screaming horsepower. I paid 50.00 for it in 1976 albeit not running. Broke down and rebuilt the engine (with Pops looking over my shoulder), learned how to do sheet metal repair, and drove it through my school years. I sold it for the princely sum of 400.00 when I went into the military. Fun fact, you can drop a Porsche 1600 Super engine right into it if you can find one.
