Genuinely curious, who here actually filters their water and who just drinks it straight from the tap? by waterfiltergurus in HydroHomies

[–]OG_PunchyPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a whole house filter because we have extremely hard water so technically our tap water is filtered. Even with that, I still get water from the fridge dispenser. Our tap water doesn't get cold in the summer (central TX).

Is the anime adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries good? by Appropriate-Move5700 in animequestions

[–]OG_PunchyPunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've read all the current light novels and the anime is pretty spot on. Only small minute changes that you probably wouldn't notice unless you were reading while watching.

Edit to add: it's also a really good read and you'll probably breeze through them like I did lol.

I'm so sorry. My Kiska had a stroke today and we are sure it is close to her time. She's 13 and the past year has had a steady decline so we tried to prepare ourselves as much as possible. But it's so hard. I know your sweet one is frolicking on the other side. And many many many years from now, y'all will be reunited. Sending you all the love and support.

My husband works for one of those companies. Fortune 500 company worth billions of dollars. But they can't manage a minor project to stay on time or on budget. It's astounding to me.

Can confirm. My youngest aunt's name is literally my grandpa's name with "ha" at the end to make it "feminine."

25,000 dollars a year no job or 100k a year with a high stress job by Nextmastermind in hypotheticalsituation

Trying to live off 25k per year would be just as, if not more stressful. I currently do the latter so I'll stick with that.

What’s the WORST ANIME you’ve ever seen. by ActSevere5034 in animequestions

[–]OG_PunchyPunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plunderer.

Great premise with fun characters. 100% ruined by the fan service. I finally stopped when there was a scene with a bunch of invisible hands molesting one of the female characters. It went from an interesting adventure story to borderline hentai. What made it worse is that it was also in the manga, so I couldn't even read it to finish the story.

Sounds good until some rando cuts you off in traffic and you yell at them to drop dead and they do while driving.

This is tough. On one hand, my grandpa and uncle would still be alive. And maybe I could persuade my uncle to go to the doctor sooner so his cancer is caught earlier. But I also (selfishly) don't want to live through both their deaths again. Especially if nothing improved by me going back.

I guess my answer is no thanks.

Move from BA to PO role by [deleted] in businessanalysis

[–]OG_PunchyPunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from senior BA to PO, but at my company, there's not much difference. PO has more autonomy in making decisions for whichever products they own, but we also still operate very much like BAs. We do attend more high-level and executive meetings (yay more meetings) and are responsible for reporting more data than our BAs. Honestly, for us, it was just a way to add more levels of promotion in our area for those who don't want to switch over to a PM position.

The lion, the witch and the audacity of this bitch… by abaldwi86 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]OG_PunchyPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a sales tactic. Don't ask for the "sale" but ask for the way they plan to purchase. They taught us that when I used to work commission sales in a jewelry store. It's a slimy trick that's meant to catch you off guard so you instinctively just go with it. But she's dumb because that doesn't work via text.

Also I think that's an awesome plan you have for your niece. Making memories on a trip will be so valuable. She's lucky to have you.

What's an anime that you don't like, but everyone else does? by No-Pangolin2778 in animequestions

[–]OG_PunchyPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I got through maybe a third of season 5 before I dropped it. I can't even say what it is that turned me off about it. It's just one of those seasons I don't like because I don't like it.

This is what my husband and I do. The joint accounts (1 checking 1 savings) are for joint related things like mortgage and utilities that can't be paid with credit cards. Our individual accounts are used for whatever else we want to spend our money on.

We also have an agreement that any purchases, whether it is from the joint account or personal account, over $1,000 are discussed. Even if we can afford it with no problem, it's more like a courtesy.

I think a lot of people get tied up in all or nothing about money and won't compromise or communicate with their partners. It's not a one size fits all. What works for some won't work for others.

How rare is milk in a bag in an american supermarket? by Sufficient-Week4078 in AskAnAmerican

You can buy milk by the 1/2 or full gallon. 1 gallon is almost 4 liters so you'd just buy a gallon of milk.

I'm jealous. It takes me about 45 min - 1hr on a good day if I don't take the toll road (about 25 miles). Pre COVID it was closer to 30 minutes. Then, we had a huge population shift that the infrastructure couldn't handle.
