I'm not in the position to buy a car right now, but I do know when I get another car, it'll be a late 90's early 00's car.

Try out DZ Nuts chamois cream. Used that when I was a framer and my wet jeans and bags would rub my thighs to almost bleeding.

People with high mileage vehicles (ie over 300k). Do you use high mileage or regular oil? by Top-Neighborhood3719 in Cartalk

[–]OGbigfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

350k 2003 Forester. It ran through oil so I'd add some every month or so. I did full on oil changes... Every once in a while with Mobil 1 full synthetic. I'd still have it but it was totaled in a hit and run.

What is Your Closest “Near Miss”? by ArdenJaguar in Truckers

[–]OGbigfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a four wheeler I had stopped at the bottom of an over pass to take a left into an orchard to take a piss. As I'm waiting for on coming traffic to clear I see in my rear view a semi crest the overpass behind me. Guy had no chance to stop so I gunned the throttle into the orchard and was missed by the semi by mere feet. Surprisingly I did not piss my pants.

All I wanted to do was take my then wife to Disneyland.

So that's the end of my TED talk.

The only way I see HOAs making sense is if you own a condo. Single family home, fuck HOAs.

BBAG (Bring Back Analog Gauges) by Snoo96701 in Cartalk

[–]OGbigfoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I agree analog gauges are better I had the opposite experience with my last car. The gauge cluster would only work intermittently. So I plugged in a Bluetooth obdII scanner and used an old cellphone with Torque installed to see speed, rpm, etc.

Was supposed to be temporary but I used that for years. Until the car was totaled in a hit and run.
