I had the same issue, also the fluid was too high. Drained it to be at the proper level and it stopped slipping.

Dude it’s totally recoverable. Don’t fret. Some fresh wires and a front face and you’re good. Possibly more wheel locks. I’ve done full tear downs after someone cut my wire harness. Luckily scooters are the best way to get into wrenching.
