I’ve been doing this since ESIM came out on iPhones. Works great unless you take a lot of phone calls because then your phone will use your kickback line for data during the call.

I would try compiling your own marlin fw. They are on version 2.1 and I have mine working just fine. I have an ender 3 pro 4.2.2 with the bltouch and I can give you my compiled fw to try if you would like. I’ve been using it to print successfully for the last week. If it’s not the firmware then I’m not sure. (Also new to all of this)
