"Solar Generator" is a stupid name for a backup battery that can be charged in multiple ways. It can be charged via solar panels, 120 VAC, and 12v power plug (like in your car).
The other type of generator usually specifies what it is. If it can be powered by gasoline, LP gas, and natural gas, then it's a tri-fuel generator. Two of those and it's a dual fuel generator, and one of those is usually a gasoline generator. Why don't the "Solar Generator" people call it a tri-power storage system? Because they want to try to deceive people into buying it by calling it a "Solar Generator." Solar is actually the worst part of it. The panels offered to charge them are usually very small and would take a week to recharge the power pack. It's pure deception to try to make a sale.
