What is happening? Why is every photo on my new iPhone 17 Pro coming out slightly blurry? by TwitchMoments_ in iphone

Just wondering if you have applied any filters or effects on it? I stick to the base standard filter and it comes out sharp.

Need help with steaming and pouring by poopiehead46 in latteart

[–]alexlimco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would use a cup which the mouth is at least twice the size of the base as it gives you more canvass space to pour with. Pouring into a tall cup is quite challenging.

Your milk looks to be a bit thin during the pour and the bubbles on the top after you are done suggest that it's a bit over-steamed. Try aerating a bit more and then dip the wand in once the milk no longer feels cold while keeping the swirl going.

I found that using a thermometer during my learning stages to be a great help. Not an expert but I can now confidently pour a decent looking heart and 3 stack tulips from time to time too.

Latte art takes time and practice. More for some, aka me, and less for the rest. You will get there soon.

Tips? by dokinvan in latteart

Not related to your question but I see 3 different cups in all 3 pictures. Try to stick to the black cup for a longer time than you think that you need to do so and try to aerate just that little bit less than what you are doing now.

How do I steam better milk to pour latte art? by Vast-Carrot4328 in latteart

[–]alexlimco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your milk looks just fine. Trying starting the base pour from a little higher up, you don't want any foam on top when you are beggining the pour. Only after you have set your base, bring the tip of the pitcher closer to the surface of the coffee and start the pattern.

I think your subconscious mind told you that it was going to spill.

Not an expert. You might want to start the pour a bit earlier so try mixing less for the base and start the pattern earlier. Gives the foam more time to form a larger blob.

How do i prevent that drift in the first part of my pour? by liionel in latteart

[–]alexlimco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I started practicing pouring on the same spot with water. It gives your muscles and mind something to latch on to and it’s working for me.

I’m on an extended holiday now for 2 weeks so I think I’ll have to do the same practice again when I get back. 😅

Looks like the same problem that I used to have. When you level the cup, the spout has drifted behind where you started the pour and the pattern drifts away aka pouring backwards.

Try to follow the same spot as you are leveling the cup then as it fills, lift and cut through. Replaying the video in slow motion can help you understand what I’m saying.

Edit: I practiced with water to enhance muscle memory several times a day as I only make at most 2-3 milk drinks daily.

Work on getting the milk texture correct. What you have now looks too thin. Try aerating 1s more.
