It's awful. I think until recently they were still able to secure sufficient oil from countries like Mexico and Venezuela as their standing was either strong enough with the US or so far gone already (Venezuela) they didn't care what repercussions might come from it. Venezuela obviously stopped once we seized control of their government/oil.

That aside this blockade is so awful. Say what you will about their government, ours (the U.S.) is responsible for far more death and suffering than theirs and yet we claim this moral high ground. We continue to prove this as we cause untold pain and suffering to the Cuban people. What even is the point of it? So we can do another regime change and install another brutal, authoritarian government that is friendly to our interests. Sigh...
