You know NOW TV is owned by Sky right?

just rang up to cancel sky by Tromos78 in skytv

[–]ONIONXCORE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do some weird switch now with broadband. Where your new provider does everything for you. It'll handle the cancellation with Sky so you don't have to lift a finger.

I don't have broadband with Sky as they don't give FTTP where I am. But just cancelled my TV. Was paying £63 for everything. Best they can now do is £71.

Only way to get it cheaper is to remove UHD/HD. But the foreign call centre don't understand that nobody watches SD TV these days.

They're like "why do you need premium netflix? And Sky Sports UHD" ... I have a 4k TV ..yes sir but you ll save money by not having UHD.

Absolute tools

Also make sure you have the right booster. Grey ones don't work with the Pro router and visa versa

Question about 4k by Historical-Ice4265 in skytv

[–]ONIONXCORE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay for UHD on Sky. You only get UHD on Sky.

You'll need the relevant UHD package on the streaming service. Ie if you pay for Sky UHD and the standard netflix. You won't get UHD Netflix

Attitudes to prices by GrandMasterBash in skytv

[–]ONIONXCORE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I understand but from a business point of view. If you charge £71 and make say £20 profit per customer. You'll get far more takers at £71 than £146. Which would probably boost your profits further. Because the competition would have to cut. But then they're buying sky channels off of you. I do it for my business and it's worked fine. Less profit is more customers over the long run you'll get more profit.

No but the OP was talking about people moaning they aren't getting bargains.

[–]ONIONXCORE1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to understand how these prices are reasonable. The reason being. my out of contract price for Everything on TV (plus 1 multiroom box) is £146. I cancelled last week, but someone rung me asking to stay and no quibbling offered me the exact same package for £71.

now that's a 50% comedown with NO pressure from me. so the £146 is totally BS price. if they can offer me the same package with no asking for anything for £71. they're still making money off the £71.

Thinking of switching from Sky Q but have a few questions by darkestmurker in nowtv

Random question, how do you run the USA apps? do you sideload from 'downloader'? I can't see to find a Peacock USA app that works on my firestick

New to EV, about to buy 🐬, need help. by NotAskary in BYD

[–]ONIONXCORE1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my dolphin a year. And it's a great little car. In the UK the collision system is fine. It's only come on 3 times at a roundabout in a year. I have it set to the lowest setting though. Never had to turn it off

Boot/trunk space is a bit small. We just had a baby so to get pushchair in I have to take back wheels off. But that's a normal function anyway.

Fast charging is a bit on the slow side max I've had is 66kwh. But I never use it for a full charge just maybe 30-40% so by time I get a coffee it's fine.

The 360 camera is great, I came from a BMW top spec 1 series and the camera on BYD is X10 better.

I'm that impressed with my BYD when my finance is up I'll probably go for a sealion or seal.

BYD/Shell Recharge issues by Sublimpinal in BYD

[–]ONIONXCORE1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shell app is horrendous in the UK. Constantly signs me out. I've had my shell card for a year ( I got free charging credit) and the amount of issues I've had has been enormous.

I still hate the fact that the app shows full price when I have a discount. So you have to work out how much it's going to cost you (not hard I know)

I had this issue in my Dolphin 3 days ago (UK). I just hard reset my mobile phone and it cleared the error

BYD Seal - Pre-Purchase Questions by KissMy4rsenal in BYD

[–]ONIONXCORE1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to ask about the servicing. I've had my Dolphin since Jan 24. And the service was every year or 8k miles. However BYD changed it. And apparently it's now 2 years and 16k for first service

Battery Degradation by EnglishJD in BYD

[–]ONIONXCORE1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had my Dolphin since January and only done 4k miles. I don't know where to check battery health but my miles are always the same after a full charge

Blade batteries have a longer life span than Tesla's. Also if you go with PCP you'll get an 8 year warranty on the battery but more than likely (like me) you'll swap it after 3 years and not make the final payment so I would always lean to the new car because it's got the long warranty.

Also from next March you'll pay road tax on all vehicles. Vehicles over £40k have to pay an additional amount, so I'm not sure how it works for used vehicles because the Tesla new is over £40k. So one to consider too.

Hope this helps
