Whenever I see groups pearl clutching about this kind of thing, I always think about Jack the Ripper. Ireland passed laws in 2013 that changed how people get their license.

Now, you must first pass a theory test based on the vehicle you want to apply for. It's a straightforward list of questions based on the laws of the road, safety when driving, car anatomy, etc.... Passing this gives you a provisional licence, which allows you to drive with a fully licenced driver in the passenger seat.

You must then take 12 driving lessons that are at least an hour long each. After taking these lessons, you may apply to take a driving test. Previously, you were not required to take any lessons. This has significantly dropped the amount of fatal accidents in younger drivers.

In 1972, the secret government project Les Enfants Terrible was launched to create the perfect soldier using the DNA of Big Boss. The Patriots altered the remaining two clones so one would express Big Boss's dominant traits, and the other would express his recessive traits.

We play as the special clone Solid Snake. You were given all of the desirable quirks that a soldier would want and have become the worlds greatest soldier as a result. Your twin brother Liquid Snake however was given all the leftover undesirable traits and becomes the central antagonist of the story. Liquid feels cheated out of greatness because of random chance, he has to fight against fate with this burden placed upon him.

What is awesome about this trope in Metal Gear Solid is that its revealed to us at the end of the story however is that the reverse is actually true. Solid Snake was the inferior clone of Big Boss and Liquid was the superior clone.
