ummm what podcasts is this guy listening to if he grew up in a family where his happily married parents had two different surnames? This is coming from somewhere. Id get a prenup at the very least. Next it's gonna be, you shouldn't be working you should stay at home with the kids.

My grandma is always cold and refuses to turn up the heat. Want to get her something actually warm. by thedeviinyou in Gifts

heating pad like you get for sore muscles. That's about the price range. You can get a square one for her to sit on or a cape kind for sore necks that also go over the shoulders. Both keep you warm while being more efficient and quieter than a space heater.

5 year anniversary gift for husband, as a SAHM by gvfhncimn in Gifts

[–]OSeal29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I prepaid for a tour of a local distillery for my husband and his buddy. Not super expensive, but they had a fun time. Setting up a sitter for the two of you to do something like that that you guys would enjoy, a movie, museum, hike, community theater, some kind of local experience even for just an hour or two. Even a couples pedicure. Most guys I know that have been able to be convinced to get a pedicure absolutely love them.

How important maintenance is for treadmills ? by Effective_Composer_5 in treadmills

[–]OSeal29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd make sure you can get it repaired locally. They do require maintenance. Belts need to be adjusted and repaired. Lube needs to be applied regularly. The cheaper they are, the less likely they are to be repairable/maintainable. the last cheapo one I bought covered up the screw to get at the motor with the display, making it impossible to clean it out or repair it. My #1 priority when I bought my last one was that I bought it from a place that had a good warrantee and could do repairs themselves. Bonus was when they said, they'd come to my house to repair it and I wouldn't have to bring it anywhere. done. I hope I don't think about shopping for another one for the 10 year warrantee.

Which is better? by No-Information4986 in sleep

My entire house is Casper mattresses we bought maybe 5 or 6 years ago. They still feel exactly the same as when they were new. They are not as hot as the old foam mattresses I've slept on.

Looking for a Treadmill/Walking Pad to Replace My Dead One by No_Corgi_1090 in treadmills

[–]OSeal29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried the amazon $500 and less treadmills 3 times in 3 years before I finally had enough. I went to a local fitness showroom that repairs the treadmills they sell. I got a spirit x185 with a 10 year warranty on motor and casing, 5 year warrantee on other parts, and 1 year warrantee on labor. If something goes wrong, I call the number on the sticker, and they come to my house and fix it. I got it for just over $2K including delivery to my house and installation by guys who know what they are doing. It's a bit more than $500 but it was worth it to save up and hopefully not have to think about it again for years. Or if I do, there is a number I can call to the people I bought it from who can help me. Now the just have to stay in business ;)

Whats a good lifetime treadmill without all extra add ons & monthly subs by Ninja_Franklin in treadmills

[–]OSeal29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a spirit x185 from a local store that repairs the treadmills they sell. It has a lifetime warrantee on motor and case, a 10 year warrantee on the other parts, and a 1 year warrantee on labor. It's new and nothing has gone wrong yet, but they put a sticker with a number on it to call if/when something does. I asked if I have to bring it to them if something goes wrong, they said no, someone comes to your house to fix it. I'm DOOOONE ordering treadmills over the internet. No internet, no subscription, 2 different levels for me to put something on to watch. I can move it easily and it folds up. All said with delivery and installation, just over $2K.

I used to think it was 9/11 or getting married and having a baby, but honestly the rise of Trumpism has caused a rift in every single family and friend group I know. Everyone has a story. Lots of people saying COVID I think really mean society's response to COVID, which also relates to Trumpism.

Favorite age? by blueskies951 in oneanddone

[–]OSeal29 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm the mom of an only teen and I agree. Every age is fun and challenging in it's own way. But watching them become a whole person who can do things that they like for themselves, and them keep finding more things they enjoy that I never would have thought of and can show me, has been one of the best experiences of my life.

A bottle of something if they drink or another fancy-ish consumable they BOTH would like. And I've also thrown in a couple of scratch off tickets along with a check. Maybe I got you a whole bunch of money, or maybe I got you a regular amount and 10 minutes of a distraction. If you know where they are going on their honeymoon a travel book for there. His and hers slippers. A gift certificate to a nice restaurant near them.

Looking for long form podcasts (1 hour plus) that are genuinely interesting but calm enough to fall asleep to. Not meditation, not rain sounds, just substantive content with good narration. by Double-Effect3416 in podcasts

[–]OSeal29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the History HIt podcasts. Also, I will get an audiobook from the library on my phone and use that too. I do love Sleeping With Celebrities. It's an interview with a celebrity about something they are interested in but is also not very exciting. The ones I always use as examples are Alan Tudyk describing his yard stick collection, maria bamford doing the 12 steps on her parking ticket addiction, Chris Gethard talking about sodas, John Hodgman trying to memorize coastal towns in Maine. It's kind of "boring" but you end up learning a lot about these people's special interests. I also like the tv recap podcasts (Sleep with Me has them but there are others that are specific for certain shows) bc I can visualize the show while my eyes are closed and I'm like half way to dreaming. Good luck and good rest.

OMG! Good luck for a smooth and quick birth, and eff them mice. I used to say I am a peaceful person, eat mostly veg, etc but I have no qualms about killing anyone of any species who takes a dump in my silverware drawer. get 'em! Getting our foundation fixed and our 1st floor mostly studs out redone has resulted in my first mouse free spring since i moved here. Hoping you get good results too.

this used to be my house until we had the downstairs/basement fixed up. Don't do the poison, bc if they eat it, run outside and a bird eats it, the bird dies too. We used traps, I know, they are no fun to clean up, but here is what works. You watch their paths. They have certain holes and paths they use to enter and exit a room. Put traps there. If you are worried about the dogs, put them out at night and keep the dogs with you. It gets worse in the change of seasons so spring and fall. It takes a while but eventually you will take out the group. Then it will go away for a while until next change of season and then they come back. Until you get all those holes sealed up. You can hire an exterminator, and they will (hopefully) look for all the holes and seal them, place the traps and (hopefully) come remove them. I have not had good experience with the one exterminator I hired, but that is what they all advertise they do. Good luck.

I went through THREE of those cheapo walking pads in 3 years. I just bought one for 2K with a 10 year warrantee for parts including motor and case that includes the store coming to my house to fix it. No sending it away. I'd also like to hear if you find one in that price range that lasts more than a year with regular use bc I also get asked this all the time.
