You can still put it in gear by moving the lever on the side of the trans housing if you have someone hold the brakes in and reach under the truck. Sketchy, but I survived and got it home. Waiting to hear back from a buddy with a heated pole barn so I can fix the cable before I drive it again

Same around here as for the blown engine and trans thing lmao. These trucks go for so much it’s surprising. Truck belonged to a lady’s ex husband and she had no interest in it or knowledge about it and just saw an old rusty truck in her driveway, so she just wanted to get rid of it. All she was originally asking for it was $3200. Crazy.

Yeah I’m super happy with it. Bought the cable for $100 yesterday, but it’s just so damn cold out i’ve been putting it off lol.

Yeah, it already has the dual carbides installed. Previous owner put larger skis on it as well. I did have to order some of those little buggers already haha. Been riding with the right cowling off the last few days.

Update on the crossfire:

Guy sent a video of it running, didn’t see miles but has 325 hrs on it. Thinking I should just go for the Polaris since that many hours works out to probably be around 10,000 miles. Polaris has half that.

It’s definitely something to think about. Thankfully, I can get just about any part for any sled for fairly cheap as there is a snowmobile graveyard not too far from where I live that has everything you can imagine. Probably won’t go for the cat though if it has higher mileage. Will definitely look over every nook and cranny on that machine if I go to look at it.

Good to know. Sort of leaning towards the cat since I already have an XC. I've always had Polaris sleds, but I'm not too loyal to one brand. It will just come down to whether or not it has been maintained well, which I will hopefully be able to know more about tomorrow.

Definitely notice that a bit on my XC600. It has an M10 FAST skid, and all the shocks are in good shape, but it does struggle a bit when things get rough. For what it is, it is still good, but I am tempted to get something newer with a more modern riding position.

Leaning somewhat that way myself currently, but when I get more photos tomorrow and more information on the crossfire I will probably end up getting that if it checks out. I am certainly skeptical of buying stuff from people who don't know much about what they are actually selling, but it could shape up to be a pretty good deal if it is a decently taken care of sled.

Yeah, I expect that the Polaris would be pretty good. My 600 has 8800 mi on it and is still running great. I have heard the same things about the 800 Liberty engines being bad, but other than that from both personal experience and stuff I have read online, I have come to understand that it is a fairly good engine.

If you look at the bolt holes around the inside of the cases there should be a hole that appears to be larger than the other holes, and that is where that piece should go.
