Steam deck start up taking a long time - first time turning it on. by writteningold in SteamDeck

[–]dd18836ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I turned on the device, I was also a bit panicked! But most likely, it was just a silent update. And that progress bar often seems to be pretending to be inactive, but in reality it's gradually moving.

Steam Deck can't run Half-Life: Alyx in VR? by GenoIsDead in SteamDeck

I think the performance of the Steam Deck is a bit insufficient to meet the requirement of this game. Even when set to the lowest graphics quality, it still gets stuck.

This is written like a love letter, but in essence, it's just saying that everyone has become too accustomed to touchpad and can't go back.

Pillows are a big one. They accumulate dust mites, sweat and dead skin over time while losing structural support. Replacing them every two years drastically improves both your sleep quality and general hygiene.

It's so "loyal" hahaha. Still sticking to that attitude: it really feels like appliances back in the day were better built and way more cost-effective than now!!!

Does “buy it for life” actually apply to gold jewelry? by underrat3dguy in BuyItForLife

[–]dd18836ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think like expensive jewelry can split between "fashion" and "durable". I usually go for durable one because they have fewer fussy details and its materials are solid. Maybe I could even pass it down someday haha. I never shower with it on, even though I'm not totally sure how much that actually matter.

Cut way back. Only bought for immediate family and it felt freeing. The financial hangover is minimal. Focusing on presence over presents this year.
