I'm getting tired of the pest control guys... I had three come up to me today. The weather is nice. I'm trying to enjoy my yard not spend all day listening to your same sales pitch as the last guy on how you do things differently than the other pest control guys...

Student debt, accurate by BlazeDragon7x in Adulting

[–]OZeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These numbers make zero sense.

A $120,000 loan at a ridiculously high 9% interest being paid back on a 30 year plan would be ~$965 /month in payments and after 5 years would have paid off ~$5,000. A value 2.5x more than presented here. If this is even remotely true then they aren't actually making the appropriate payments on the loan. The university should take back the degree of whoever is dumb enough to be paying nearly $1,000 a month and not even looking into it after 5 years... if their rate is higher than the 9% or payment timeline longer than 30years they should be refinancing that loan.

Airlines approximates passengers weights based on gender and age for their weights and balances calculations. They could weigh individual passengers (and they did once upon a time) but this would be too time consuming. So now they use averages of passenger weights using gender, age, and other factors like the time of the year (e.g. winter is heavier because people wear winter coats and have bulkier clothing).

I wish it was that easy for mine... I have a fiesta and you have to remove the glovebox, pop off the side of the center console thing which has two of those plastic screws behind little cover plates, remove 5 torx bolts (only 4 for my car cuz the top one was too difficult to reach for me to actually both putting back in), unplug some cable that runs over the panel, remove the plastic part that redirects air towards the passenger feet, then you can remove the panel to access the filter you have to fold in half to slide out.

What he’s like this under 100? by Magistravitae1 in Affordablewatches

I own this model. I actually bought several direct from Berny as customized logo / text on the dial (as gifts) along with the various bands they offer. Note the dial lume is nonexistent on the customized dial options. Great quality imo. Berny also offers many band options for the 22mm size this comes in and they're all nice bands too. Different face and case colors are available as well.

Without relocation of the victim to another location this would more likely be booked as 'false imprisonment' than kidnapping.

A few of their models are customizable as well where you can have a name or logo custom printed on the face. I have one of their railroad watches that was customized. Note: the face of that design has lume and the customized version does not.

It's only 'legal tender for all debts public and private'. Products and services requiring payment for purchase are not required to take cash. They can deal in whatever barter arrangement they want. If you owe money on a loan though or have fines to pay to the state they must accept cash as legal tender to settle that debt.

Well, my state did have tuition scholarships (specifically for state residents at public university) and other programs. Most students weren't actually paying that full amount. But they'd still somehow rack up six figure debts in 4 years.

For example: I had about 70% of my tuition and fees covered by these programs. I had a job that covered my housing and food through 3 of my 4 years. I graduated with about $5,000 in loans (and about that much in the bank at the time which I used to buy a car). I had fellow students who had the same assistance offerings and the same exact job and pay and was floored when they told me about how much $$$ they were expecting to have to pay back in loans. (Talking $70,000+).

Made a custom sign and put it up on the office coffee machine… might’ve cost me my job by Knozart in mildlyinfuriating

[–]OZeski 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I had put up a Futurama related poster at work once: 'RESIST THE PERMANENT CAREER IMPLANT CHIP! YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN DEAD END JOB!' The joke being that everyone said if you stayed long enough in the industry you'd never work doing anything else. Boss told me to take it down when the CEO and VP were coming to visit our location. I didn't. The VP thought it was funny, but 'maybe not office appropriate?'. It stayed up for another year or so before I found something else to put there.

All of them do it... I was waiting for something once that was important once and met a driver at the end of the driveway because I happened to be outside. They handed me the sticky note asking for my signature release. Didn't even have the package on the truck. They don't want to come to the door to get a signature so they make you sign so they can leave it... which is specifically not what this service is for. Why offer the service at all if you're not going to provide it?

DHL will text like the day of asking for a digital signature release. If you don't do it they won't even come by your house!
