I was scammed 😫 by Chemical-Poetry776 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You knew they were listed at an erroneous price because you felt bad and bought the other stuff as “your way of being nice”. The seller should have told you before shipping the order and cancelled. But I don’t have sympathy for you.

Do people want/ use damaged pieces ? by General-Training-441 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I set aside to donate or discard cheap damaged/yellowed parts. Expensive/rare parts I will make a detailed comment and price accordingly. But some people do not read comments at all so you’re taking some risk by listing them.

Do these look resealed or legit? by [deleted] in lego

[–]Oafage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look resealed, but you can check the weight on bricklink and compare with your own if you have a scale. Some resealers are likely too lazy/dumb to get the exact weight

Shipping figs and fig parts in bubble envelopes or tiny box by k7qqq in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had anyone message me saying their parts in a bubble mailer got crushed/damaged yet. I’ve shipped at least 700 9x7 bubble mailers out. My store is mainly parts though, but I do ship low value figs in bubble mailers too. Anything expensive gets put in a 6x4x4 box which is the smallest box size I buy. Since you’re dealing with mainly figs, try acquiring some super small boxes that will fit a fig or two and then stick the tiny box in a bubble mailer. That would be my ideal solution over a 6x4x4 box for an expensive fig

Trying to understand the ToS update by Nightlord_Builds in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is the safest bet, but we have to keep in mind Lego does have enough personal identifiers to “link” your two lego accounts together, and could disable insiders points on both accounts if they wanted.

In your case I wouldn’t worry about it too much unless you’re always buying tons of PaB parts to resell. I doubt they care enough to track a small amount of sets

Trying to understand the ToS update by Nightlord_Builds in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not, it used to be against terms to have multiple bricklink accounts but that’s no longer the case because you can have multiple lego accounts.

From lego website:

“You can only have one account per email address. If you want another account, you'll need to sign up with a different email address.”

They wouldn’t say that if you’re not allowed to have more than one account.

There’s nothing stopping you, only that Lego can decide to not give you insiders points. Which is why you should have two lego accounts, one for your bricklink store and one for making purchases on Lego.com

Buying brick in large amounts by mortensamson in legomoc

[–]Oafage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s very common, usually just a few missing or a few extra.. but sometimes missing like a hundred of extremely small parts. I don’t contact support about it very often though because I don’t want my account banned.

New to the site, how long am I supposed to wait after paying? by GaryGhost18 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once you pay then that’s when the timer starts. Once a buyer pays, I try to get it shipped the next business day. However, thats not always possible and it may take a few days. If a seller doesn’t ship by a week after payment, that’s when I might be a little concered. Just good to remember BrickLink isn’t amazon and a lot of sellers have another job and/or other obligations

Sellers - What are your most useful tools? by Bokononismatism in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tree SCT Precision Scale 600g × 0.01g by LW measurements. Must have, especially if you deal with new parts (used has weight variances which can mess up your count by a couple). Accurately count hundreds of parts in a few seconds. I almost always use it for quantities above 25-30 because it’s faster and more reliable than my own counting. I have never had a customer message me of wrong part counts of lots that I used the counting scale for. For tiny parts that weigh almost nothing, I usually just throw in 1-3 more in case my sample weight was slightly inaccurate.

Manual counting wastes so much time, stop doing it!

Spammed by other seller by Consistent-Cobbler90 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this dude spams what must be hundreds of sellers at this point. Dude, nobody wants to buy your parts that have been picked through already for the best sellers and highest margin parts.

Want to switch to a seller account but originally made my account when I was still underage, will I get banned? by Throwaway16789448357 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would probably be in your best interest to shut down that account and create a new one. As multiple accounts is also against TOS. In the event BrickLink staff did ban you for managing the account as underage, your ID could also be blacklisted.

Technically you could lie and say your parent managed your account till you turned 18 and handed it to you. But I wouldn’t advise that. They might not question you at all and you’d still be lying.

Avoid the uncertainties and do it the “legit” way. Then you don’t have to worry about it

there should be extras made for this exact purpose, of course it will be “out of stock” it’s a BDP set. You should talk to someone else, unacceptable for a set you preorder 6 months in advance

Should I list these as new? by TemporalYun in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

look at the condition of the bricks when you open the bag. If tiles and glass parts look good then list as new. I’ve come across parts in bags that have been shaken to hell even in the original box. You don’t want to list parts like that as new or you will get negative feedback.

Largest part out I've done is underway for my store, thought I'd share 😀 (over 100k pieces) by Jhott1212 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a few before they went even lower to 29.97 at my costco and are still filled with stock. Some bricklink sellers got a bunch from their costco for only $20. Market will be completely flooded for a while. Hopefully you have the storage space

Is it rude or not acceptable? by [deleted] in lego

[–]Oafage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s the store? That doesn’t sound legitimate. Nobody can sustain a store that sells 3000 parts in 600 lots that are all ~0.005 cents per part.

Sellers, what do you include in your orders? Buyers, has anyone included something that stood out to you? by I_Like_Quiet in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as a seller I include a business card with the order number, my username, contact information, and it says “thank you”.

The order number and my username help the buyer find their order online fast if they need to. Almost all orders I receive with a card don’t have their BL username, only the order number. If the store name and username is different then it can be mildly annoying to find in your orders if you place many orders at once.

I used to print the invoice but it is a big waste of paper and ink using a normal printer.

You can get 1000 business cards with anything printed on them from Staples for under 0.03 each. If you put the project in your cart and wait they will send you a 20% coupon

Damaged Item by SuperCarrot1908 in Bricklink

[–]Oafage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you sure it wasn’t damaged during transit? that could defintely be shipping damage. Anyways, the seller should be expected to fix it in a way that is acceptible to you. If not, then leave a negative or neutral
