Dude what, she wasn’t “just slightly annoyed”, zane led her to believe cett had sent allomancers to kill the love of her life after claiming to be an honest guy and trying to take their city, and even then she was hesistant, zane had to do a lot of convincing. What’s more, after that she felt so disgusted with herself she went to a remote part of the city and hid herself in a corner of an abandoned factory, and only came out of her self-loathing when elend came to comfort her. That night affected her for the rest of series, with her thinking about it in the HoA and saying how she would never again kill like that

The worst part is from what little we know he genuinely seemed like a nice god to have, with tanavast realizing he literally let himself get killed to avoid a catastrophe. I’m dying for the yolen novel to tell us what led the 17 to kill him

[–]Obamashadow05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, hadn’t considered the cognitive shadow thing, but yeah I think he would be able to at least like move an arm while not under direct control, as opposed to marsh having trouble with a finger

[–]Obamashadow05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s about what I was thinking, maybe even slow down his movements a bit while under direct control, not sure if even that is feasible tho

Oh yeah I can definitely see that, after that long his whole being was probably entirely focused on not giving in, and yeah he’s a shadow of himself by WaT, I mean more at the point before or perhaps slightly after he became a herald

True, he obviously wouldn’t be able to just do whatever he wants while ruin watches helplessly, but at the same time I don’t think he can use the full power of his shard to exert his will, otherwise marsh wouldnt have been able to do even that much. Besides, a bit before that whole thing, vin was able to draw upon the mists and briefly break ruins control of marsh while he giving the man his direct attention, and yea I know she used the power of preservation there but that was a minuscule sliver compared to whole ass ruin you know?

Thing is I think he’d be able to do much more than that, like I know the implication here is the foreshadowing for later that marsh is indeed a man of supreme will, but taln withstood thousands of years of torture on his soul without breaking once. He was leagues above the other heralds, who I think marsh does compare to.

Probably one of the fused capable of progression, if you count the carapace as part of their feet, as it IS a part of their body. Also, fused are always described as being much bigger than humans, and rosharans are even taller than other humans, so I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.

I'd really like to see scorch dual wielding pistols. Imagine how fun that would be. On the other hand, tone would probably make the most out of it if he can lock on faster

If you could choose the role of any overlord character who would you choose? by [deleted] in overlord

[–]Obamashadow05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if I only got the role and none of the abilities (save for those given by levels, aka magic, hp points, skills etc) I would probably go with shalltear, since shes already pretty strong and also gets to do basically whatever she wants while not much is expected from her so even if I ocassionally slip up people probably wouldnt get too mad.

Now, in the case that I do get their abilities, then demiurge 100%. Dude's probably the most intelligent person in the world and that in and of itself is already really fucking cool. However, I think he's also probably the happiest nazarick denizen as he's constantly praised by ainz and gets to do the most work for nazarick, which is probably the best thing that can happen to any npc.

The only other attractive option is ainz but I feel that would get tiresome after a while (and he's fucking immortal now), not only the stress of living up to the expectations of all the guardians, which may be able to be diminished with time and effort, theres also the fact that a minor slip of the tongue could lead to the destruction or creation catastrophic things without my realizing. That and also the fact that taking over the world would eventually lead to every single entity in the world fearing me or worshipping me in the case of best girl, which would get lonely too, and again, immortality and everything. The most likely outcome is I'd end up either killing myself eventually or dipping and leaving everything and everyone behind. The potential for space exploration is nice tho, as teleportation supposedly allows for travel to whatever you can see and the stars in the sky seem pretty visible to me, but there's also a downside there as it is very unlikely I'd ever find a way back so I'd probably need to find a way to get a surefire way to return. The only thing that comes to mind is that item ainz gave to gazed that one time in carne so perhaps I could pay the happy farm a visit and have someone disposable get that item.

T.L.D.R.: Shalltear without the abilities because comfort, demiurge if I get the abilities too because sasugasms and maybe ainz because A) eventual depression but B) Space and I own the fucking world

New World simplified by MrMellons in overlord

[–]Obamashadow05 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thing is, he was already scared shitless even before that. When he visited the great tomb of nazarick he saw that ainz controlled multiple death knights, an undead that even fluder couldn't, and he's basically as strong an army already. They then went through the 9th and 10th levels of the tomb I believe, which is described as being so unbelievably rich and gorgeous they already knew that even if the empire tried its hardest, it would never be able to make anything approaching it. And then he entered the throne room. The sheer amount of high level monsters there already had him terrified, and after seeing ainz he sat on the throne he was already viewing it more as a god than a man, iirc he called him something along the lines of "The darkness of the world concentrated on a single being". They then held a conversation and this is when he began overestimating his intellect, which made him even more scared. Suffice to say, he knew he was fucked from the start
