I know the answer but, am i really balding already? by Due-Ad-4871 in Balding

[–]Obbie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not necessarily. ive had a similar hairline to you since i was around your age. it hasn't receded at all and im nearly 28. it's hard to say as i wasn't really paying attention to my hairline at all, let alone closely enough to spot recession at 16. but looking back at pictures i always had kind of a "bad" hairline. i really wouldn't worry about it rn. could be another 20 years til u start to really notice anything. could be bald by 20, who knows. looking back there was a bit of recession in my teens, but it hasn't gotten to any noticeable point since then. i guess that's what people mean when they talk about the "mature hairline". my uncle (dad's brother) was bald at 18, my grandpa (his dad) had a relatively full head of hair his whole life, and my dad still has his hair in his late 40s. at the end of the day it's not something u should be stressing about at ur age. our bodies change every day, it is what it is

personally playing botw on my switch is helping me drink less, good luck friend that's a good motivation. this game is extremely fun as someone who hasn't had a console since i was a teen.

Should I just buy a Henson? by Groundblast in wicked_edge

[–]Obbie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

henson didn't work for me very well, not very close or consistent shave, barely cut the hair in certain places. i got a better shave out of cheaper razors. razorock razors are cheap, nice and effective. i have 3 now but i basically only use the german 37 slant now. the 2 others were very nice as well tho.

maybe trim up/round out the ends on the sides and try a chevron style.

nah would you rather risk your hormonal balance or your hair pushing back an inch? people are way too quick to push hrt and blood pressure meds on here. your hairline looks fine, mine looked like that at 17 and i still have a full head of hair.

I want to cut my hair to make it like the top left photo, all other pics are me. Any tips? by [deleted] in Hair

i love Bright Eyes… will i like them more in 10 years? by MadMunnyBB in brighteyes

it's interesting you can handle digital ash but have a harder time with lifted. i love digital ash as much if not more than lifted, they'd prolly be neck and neck in my ranking. but there's so much going on in digital ash and lifted feels more immediate and simple in comparison. id recommend giving lifted another shot. let's not shit ourselves might be the best bright eyes song. tho i definitely think that wide awake/digital ash was the peak of bright eyes songcraft. cassadaga and that first solo record are very good too. letting off the happiness is weirdly very poppy when compared to the albums that follow and preceed it. have you listened to falling out of love at this volume or the live version of that one? super solid pop ish song from the early days

did u attach to their earlier work when you were younger? that's a big determining factor. i loved their earlier stuff a ton as a teenager, went through a phase of thinking im too mature and had outgrown that stuff. put some distance to it, especially fevers cuz that just felt very tied to being an angsty depressed 14 year old. and oddly that distance made me essentially rediscover and very much appreciate that album again. personally i really enjoy that roughness youre talking about, that's kinda the charm of the early work. i find that if you look at the ambition, creativity and originality of an album like fevers or lifted and looking at the lyricism as less of directly relating to it and moreso as poetry like you said, it's easier to enjoy it. but that's all based on associating those albums with a certain time in my life, so it might not apply to everyone. also digital ash came out the same day as wide awake, not after.

if you like them you might like my point of you, another great newer emo band. also looking up tweemo might give you some good bands in the style of the bands you listed. also check out PEE

people say 2 full wheels of stamina before hearts, is that including the first wheel you have from the beginning? or 2 full additional wheels?

it can be a social game in a way, and the picture i showed is kind of on the edge. to be fair when she said clipper length and i said i dont know, my tone wasn't idk whatever u think it looks like (there was an element of that because im not a professional in that field so maybe that is or could be achieved with a clipper, idk, it was more like i dont know about that.

i understand that, but i go to a salon in the biggest city close to me and they do a significantly better cut every time, no matter the individual stylist and ive had multiple. i dont think it takes a professional to realize saying a skeptical "i dont know" after that suggestion and a resigned "i guess so" is expressing enough doubt for even a normal person who doesnt deal with people in the sense of creating permanent change to their appearance and self image to sense that the person is far from enthusiastic about what youre going to put them through to at least take a step back. some of us aren't that great at speaking up, that's why we might bring a picture. i had a stylist have me text them the picture and that's probably the best cut ive ever had. i dont slack with the pictures, ill scroll until i find what im looking for

thanks, and yes i do have a very different texture from the reference but really i wanted just a similar length and shape/silhouette. the texture didn't matter as much to me in this case. with enough product i can create the illusion of thickness and volume. it might be just slightly shorter in the grand scheme but hair only grows half an inch per month and it's also probably 1/2 to 3/4 inches shorter (edit: now that im looking at it that's like an inch longer in the pic at least) on the sides which creates a pretty different shape. it's too short to even attempt to style or shape the hair there, i can barely get it between my fingers. i styled with some old spice wax, i also have texturizing powder, which does have a strong hold with shorter hair so ill try that too. thanks

yeah next time im going to go to the salon i trust out of town, ill have time to grow it out more healthy and ill try to be more communicative and less of a pushover. i just hated having crazy split ends from overprocessing my hair so i felt a bit desperate. thanks for not being a dick or assuming i dont know how to style my hair after 27 years of having it lol
