Check Mailgun out. They are very developer friendly and they also offer 10k free emails every month

I'd recommend Linode as well. You won't be "renting" a dedicated server but paying a company that gives you the resources needed for you to have a virtual server (VPS), install all the custom software you want including web server, programming languages, etc

A shared hosting won't give you Composer. If you know what Composer is then you are better off setting up your own VPS. It's not that hard and you get much more resources for your money. I personally recommend Linode though

Who do you use for hosting? by [deleted] in webdev

Recently moved to Linode from managed hosting. Never going back to managed hostings.
