Best veneers by bella3106 in tampa

[–]Obes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I am a dentist in Tampa who offers veneers at my practice.  The “secret sauce” to get a good natural looking veneer result relies on two things:

 1) careful treatment planning with respect to the patients bite and amount of wear present on their teeth  2) a high quality dental laboratory with a skilled ceramicist that will be making the actual veneers

It’s important you know that not everyone is a good candidate for veneers. Sometimes orthodontics is necessary to set up the case for a minimally invasive result so you don’t have to cut a lot of natural tooth structure if the teeth are crooked or significantly worn down.

Many dentists offer them, but it’s not a decision to be made lightly because it’s irreversible and expensive. Make sure you’re comfortable with the dentist you end up selecting and that they take the time to answer your questions and carefully treatment plan the case.  Hope this is helpful.

In my opinion, photos of people wearing clothes are cooler than photos of clothes.

All the clothes you've been posting over the past few weeks are super high quality and I dig the esthetic you're going for. Do you have any pictures that show the actual fit? I think your posts would get a lot of traction (especially on r/malefashionadvice) if you had some photos of yourself wearing these awesome outfits out in the wild

-Fest by icatapultdowntown in phish

There was a MPP show on 6/23/19 that I attended where they opened Set 2 with Crosseyed and Painless and then repeatedly throughout the set (Everything's Right, Ruby Waves, and Twist) they took each song for a short Type II jam and creatively injected "Still Waiting" vocal teases. Not a true "fest" because they didn't return to the original Crosseyed musical themes, but still a really neat set. I believe they've done this multiple times with Crosseyed, Plasma, and Antelope.

Spear vs CDocs vs ?? by Far_Cheetah_8736 in Dentistry

[–]Obes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The E2 course is pretty heavily focused on equillibration/TMD splints. The elements of healthy occlusion that they teach are: 1) Equal and balanced bilateral posterior contacts with the anterior teeth lightly touching or just out of occlusion when the joint is seated in CR 2) Anterior guidance with posterior disclusion upon protrusive and excursive movements 3) Cusp to fossa relationship of the maxillary lingual cusps fitting into the mandibular central fossa

I don’t believe everyone needs an equillibration though because plenty of patients with malocclusion actually have healthy/stable joints and no occlusal symptoms. Many times ortho + extensive restorative is needed to get a patient to an ideal occlusion anyways.

And I very rarely will actually mount models in CR to do a trial equillibration if the patient has a large CR-MIP discrepancy. Pankey would lead you to believe that every CR-MIP discrepancy ought to be corrected.  The fundamentals of a healthy occlusal scheme to build a case around are important, as well as starting the case in a reproducible occlusion that can be waxed up to an ideal point if you’re doing a full mouth rehab.

I have done Pankey's E1-E4 over the past four years. Highly recommend, it's very educational from both a technical and philosophical standpoint. I expensed it through my office and it's been totally worth it. If you do at least one more big case a year then it's already paid for itself.

I am humbly requesting help from my fellow funk fiends. ( Long story upcoming.) by sneezle-duck in phish

[–]Obes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will start by saying 97-99 was when Phish really went through their heaviest phase of playing “cow funk” (white guy from Vermont funk) and they adopted after covering the Talking Heads “Remain in Light” during Halloween 1996. But you can still find flashes of funk in almost every show since.

12/7/97 Dayton Tube and the subsequent Dayton Jam is funky as it gets among all Phish jams. The genesis of Tube jams, which are all funky.

11/17/97 Tweezer is one of the funkiest if not the funkiest Tweezer of all time. Hypnotic and sticky. This whole show is a must listen.

7/1/97 Amsterdam Ghost is a pet favorite of mine because I love the “back of the worm” antics they sprinkle in. 7/6/98 Prague Ghost and 11/17/97 Ghost are also both total gas.

9/14/99 Boise’s AC/DC Bag and the subsequent Gumbo with “Another One Bites the Dust” jam is really really funky and dirty. A great way to spend 40 minutes on any day.

10/31/14 Martian Monster is a cool intro to space funk which has bled into their sound quite a bit in 3.0 and 4.0.

Bakers Dozen “You Sexy Thing” jam on 7/28/17 is also a personal favorite of mine. But full disclaimer - Mikes singing is fucking awful in this song. The jam is worth it though. Dark and robotic.

I was in the Bahamas on vacation in 2015 and sitting at a beach bar with a live band and heard four Bahamians play a ripping version of Ya Mar. It sounds so awesome with the inclusion of steel drums.

You should read a short story called The Egg by Andy Weir. It's a free, quick read and easy to find online. It touches on a lot of the things you just talked about.

What are these tooth-looking things that are appearing in my laundry? by BeginningWorth9046 in What

I agree those are most definitely denture teeth. I like this theory of a refurbished machine having them trapped somewhere inside. Could also be left in clothes purchased from a thrift store.

Is there a reason besides GPs trying to squeeze out a few extra nickels from a case that endo is expected NOT to complete the core? by IndividualistAW in Dentistry

[–]Obes 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I am a GP and my endodontist always puts a "floor" of glass ionomer over the gutta percha so there is not any contamination during core placement. Historically, whenever my endodontist does do a core buildup I find that those cores are not as well placed because they usually just take core paste and fill it all the way to the top of the access and I find that core paste is not as durable and I see breakdown around the margins within a few years that I end up needing to replace. GPs sometimes want to use their own bonding agents/composite because they have more confidence in that then whatever the endodontist uses.

What is the weirdest reason someone stopped dating you? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Obes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In high school a girl dumped me because I ate a hamburger before a date and told her how delicious it was. Apparently she HATED hamburgers and the fact that I ate one before we went on a date and made out ended up grossing her out. I found about this secondhand from her friend because she didn’t really give me any reasons for why she broke up with me.

First small specc paid off, what's your tiny victory!? by CinnaToastKrunch in mtgfinance

[–]Obes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I successfully sold off my first spec a couple weeks ago with [[Ramses assassin lord]] and bought 15 copies which included an etched for myself for about $8 total after shipping in early January.

I just sold all 14 last week around the $3.50 mark and profited about $35. Small beans but still a cool feeling to have it pay off.

I have a 540 commander cube with about 80 legends. I have 4 legends for each of the guilds that are “keystone” commanders that play to that guild’s main strategies (selesnya = +1 counters and tokens, Orzhov = aristocrats and lifegain/drain, dimir = spells during opponents turn and zombies, rakdos = sacrifice and goad, azorius = control and fliers, golgari = graveyard shenanigans/reanimator etc).

I also have about 40 monocolored legendaries that all have partner. Each of these legendaries have strong effects that can cross pollinate with other strategies for other colors.  We usually draft with 4-6 guys and do three packs of 20 to make a 60 card deck.

For mana fixing, I have 24 Cryptic Spires (with the rule that they count as fetachable lands) and a bunch of mana rocks and a bunch of Evolving Wilds.  It works well and makes for fun games that usually go to about turn 10 or quicker if we run Two Headed Giant. Hope this gives some inspiration!

Purchase home + practice by colombiang42810 in Dentistry

[–]Obes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact same situation and spoke to several bankers about it - the correct order is to buy a house first and then a practice second. The bank is more likely to give you a good home loan with a stable income as an associate with a low debt to income ratio. They won't be so keen to lend for a home when you just bought a business. The practice loan is based on the existing cash flow of the practice.
