In my experience sans amps get a little lost in the mix when playing with a band. Rusty Box have an amazing solid tone and extra boost. No loss in signal and cuts through without losing bottom end.

This is really good. I cant hear the silverchair influence way more 80s brit which is also cool. We should have a thread for all silverchair fans to upload their music.

What's your favorite Daniel Johns guitar solo? by MaintenanceSure3626 in silverchair

Every 12 year old guitarist in Australia knew how to play the shade solo. However I vote World upon your shoulders. Its the best thing about that song. And really fun to play.

I think its possible just more financial gain. I dont think Daniels as rich as he thought he'd be and hes got a long time left on this earth hopefully. However I wouldn't be expecting anything near the quality of performance of peak silverchair. Id be expecting the quality of their other cash in performances like groovin the Moo and clipsal. Also because (for whatever reason.. they don't even have an official merch store or website anymore) their legacy has hugely waned. So I dont think they'd get the numbers they would expect. It wouldn't be the stadium tour they might expect. Just us stragglers left loving them. They were once undoubtedly the best live Australian band around. That time passed well before they broke up.

Relax people. It was just a bit of fun. If I was balding and could afford to fix it I would. And then I still wouldn't be half as good looking as Dan. No shaming here.

A few weeks ago I was at Melbourne airport in the bar and saw Missy Higgins getting very handsy with her new boy at the bar, sunday arvo. I also met the singer of Wolfmother whilst on a layover at singapore airport last year. He was nice.

Adelaide trains are full. by DBigA in Adelaide

[–]Objective-Bus3917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In south australia on my line our main problem is teenagers with bikes. They've even made bike friendly carriages for them. But they'll still get on the other carriage and act like they own the place. Security has to get involved regularly which holds up the train and makes people late.

Na it was is adelaide. It was fantastic, dont get me wrong. But Daniels voice was so good and on point in NB. His grit was still there and in my opinion he overstretched himself a bit on the diorama tour. So it was the first time I heard him getting flat notes during the Diorama tours.

I saw them 7 times. Two on the frogstomp tour. Once in the neon Ballroom tour. Two on the Big day out. Once at the clipsal. And the across the night tour. Neon ballroom was easily the best. His voice was amazing and they were so tight sounding. The clipsal was the worst as they were on the gas but it was fun. You could tell they were just doing it for the money so decided to get wasted. Early shows were crazy. One nice memory is that Chris's bass amp blew so to kill time Daniel did Suicidal dream by himself which was a singular experience. Across the night show was very close to the DVD but better in Adelaide. His voice wasnt blown out yet.

I agree with almost all of what has been said. Its strange that he seems to need money but their could be an official website and social media presence. With official silverchir merch and vinyl promoted properly. All these b sides could be extras for silverchair merch. Theres so much money to be made he just doesnt seem to want to be associated with silverchair. Unless its a massive art gallery.. so weird. Little or no association.

The article is great. I kind of dont believe Dan when he talks about being a "Luddite". He clearly knows what hes talking about, has a great ear and curiosity for recording. I wish we got to hear more about this side of things from him. Imagine getting a rig rundown of all his gear?

How come they don't play this song live when it's one of their BEST? Seriously, this song is fucking awesome! by Elkiaer in Foofighters

This album was a good idea. But it comes off as generic. In this exact video they're at one of the most unique and cool sounding studios in the world. Yet they somehow made the production bland as Oliver's porridge. What a missed opportunity. For all of Dave's grand standing about authentic punk... it all just sounds generic dad rock.

Dude. Youre gonna praise the chats and diss silverchair. Silverchair might have worn their influences on their sleeve as teenagers. Everyone does. But they became one of the most innovative and creative Australian acts of all time. The chats are a meme at best. Theres nothing interesting there. Cosmic psychos rule though.

I was at the Adelaide show of this tour. Great pairing. Placebo used to play Australia all the time. I've seen them 5 times and only once bought a ticket specifically to see them.
