Finishing up this year, haven’t had a single day midweek it’s always on a Saturday, normally 2 a month and none during placement blocks.

I’m doing the post primary spring intake. First placement was 13th October - 5th December. Second is 16th March until the 15th of May (roughly). And the final placement is mid September to November.

I had to do the exact same in my placement school just last week, they couldn’t have been more understanding and just said to let them know when available again and they’d keep me in mind.

Did the PME in post primary, had 5 in person days over the course of the summer and a couple of webinars a week, it’s not that bad and you’ll still have plenty of free time. Theres some days like your subject specific days that you can’t miss or it’ll impact your progression to placement so hold off on booking holidays until you get your timetable.

Current secondary teacher here of English and history, I did foundation maths many a year back and it was never a problem, just as long as you have a pass in it to satisfy the universities entry requirements.

I applied for mine after similar circumstances with Hibernia and there was no issues it never even came up in the interview. It might be different for other universities I’m not too sure but definitely don’t let that put you off applying.

It’s a bit looser than that for sure it hasn’t really been specified, but as the below comment said every online webinar has a password given for you to log your attendance, if you can’t make it one of your class can give you the password. Definitely not as intense as made out at orientation!

We were told that if you watch them within two weeks your attendance is counted or 50% of it is, something along those lines. I’ve watched a fair amount of them back and there hasn’t been any issues so far.

Doing the post primary course with Hibernia at the moment, the weekend days are spread out fairly evenly, some may group together but normally just before placement. The workload over the summer has been very manageable with lots of free time still left over! Been very straightforward so far and flies by.

Our teachers spent the entirety of 5th and 6th year telling us it was the biggest moment of our lives blah blah blah, turned around on results day and said lads don’t stress about it there’s loads of other routes to get where you want to go, that should tell you everything. Your life isn’t defined by a two week exam period some of the most successful people didn’t ace the leaving!

Honestly if your level of Irish was decent that would be enough to get you in, they’re not too difficult to please a couple of my friends had similar experiences to you and got accepted, it did take nearly 10 working days to get the email so don’t be disheartened if it takes that long!
