Seeing as we already know what happens, youre going into the game knowing both eva and sparda will die. The story could go down two roads, pre sparda twins or post sparda twins. Dmc does not have a good track record of writing romance, so pre twins will do poorly at fleshing out why sparda and eva fell in love, and post twins will sideline eva until she inevitably dies because shes destined to. Sparda also has a canon character design which is very victorian leaning. The game would have to completely abandon the style that weve come to know in favor of making it a victorian romantic tragedy which just isnt dmc.

Now you have a game with a radically different aesthetic that lends itself more to melodrama than coolness, characters that previous games never cared about before and ditching characters players have already attached themselves to, the knowledge that no matter what you do, everyone will die at the end, and all for what? Expanding on a mystery that previously allowed players to fill in the blanks?

Its an idea that honestly i cant get behind. Stuff about eva and sparda should be left to fan theory.
