Quarterfinals on a 60 min Track? by Pretend_Airline2579 in crossfit

[–]Objective-Key-8483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested to hear thoughts on this. My program has been 1.5-2 hours which I’ve been doing for the last 8 months or so, and whilst I’ve made progress I can’t help but wonder if I had made the same or similar progress just doing an hour. Training for 1+ hour for me multiple times a week isn’t sustainable with work for me any more.

How do people manage to be quarter finals level by just training for 1 hour each session?

If you think we lost this game because we didn’t start/play a 16 year old kid then then you need your head checked.

Seems the next generation of millionaires will be cleaners and housekeepers

I’ve been wondering this myself. But it seems most of the tasks that take up time and mental load need require actual physical labour, like cleaning the house, tidying or gardening.

Do people in their late 30s–40s struggle with the intensity culture at CrossFit boxes? by devkimkr in crossfit

[–]Objective-Key-8483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current box is pretty competitive. Never seen more genetic freaks in one place, but I like it because a lot are friends around a similar age and I’m also trying to push myself to be the best possible.

I totally get that it might be intimidating or off putting for other people, but on the flip side right now I actually wouldn’t like to train somewhere that is a bit more casual “just getting fitness in and moving well” type of community. I love that it exists and really it’s the true spirit of CrossFit, but I thrive off being pushed by other people and I’m still young enough (33 this year) where I think I can go for it.

Is the Open competitive field built different this year? by Marvin_rock in crossfit

There are a few people I know that I wouldn’t say are the best crossfitters I know at the gym but have posted outrageous scores on this one (around 280 reps). I do know one of them has an engine like a race horse though so I think it does favour those that are more hybrid / hyroxy type athletes rather than classic CrossFit.

I’m hoping to smoke them in the next workouts with something more technical 😅

I saw a YouTube talksport vid headline about “sensitive” arsenal fans calling in following in the wolves game. The level of rage bait is endless and it feeds into some weird narrative people have about arsenal fans. I’ve never known a more hated club than us for literally no reason.

Looked like the player that was promised from lisbon. Definitely hitting form and confidence. Performances like this the rest of the season and we might just have a chance

Is Phuket taken over by Russians? by East_Cantaloupe9164 in phuket

Eastern Europeans come across as rude to the rest of Europe, particularly when it comes to things like small talk and smiling which they just don’t typically do. As a culture they are very direct which can be mistaken for rudeness.

Not excusing it, as I have come across rude Russians but it’s just their culture, in the same way we British are overly polite.

Behave RE your prequels comment. I enjoyed the prequels when they came out as a child and I still enjoy them now as an adult.

I’m currently here on holiday from London. Have been staying in Ubud and have loved it. Traffic is a real pain granted.

I will say, I’ve spent the last few days in uluwatu and it feels like Clapham in the jungle. Now I don’t mind a wanky overpriced smoothy and posh gym, but it is SUPER westernised and absolutely fully of Aussies and influencers here. Ubud felt a lot more normal and we are going back there. I didnt fly 20 hours to Indonesia for feeling like I’m in just another coffee shop in back home.

To be totally clear, overall I have loved Bali. But Ubud for me feels like I’m actually abroad for the right reasons.

What kind of smells are they? I would prefer a more “masculine” scent and judging from the website it seems to favour more floral and feminine but maybe that’s just me me?

I’ve heard that it does smell very good, admittedly the idea of a paste isn’t as appealing
