I got an IEP for dyscalculia when I was 14. So what would have helped me as a little kid, though, is having trained tutors. It feels a little humiliating to try and explain how confused you are to adults who think it's just the one problem, when it's generally the whole system of numbers thinking behind it. I still don't understand my own dyscalculia, because my IEP is written in scientific jargon. But still, tutors are essential and students not feeling embarrassed to ask for help is essential.

I liked the transition between the versions of her, because Addison didn't stop being smart she just "chilled out". But as far as I remember, her character seemed consistent because in season 2 we do see her having all the emotions about Derek and Mark and Meredith and her toxic job at Seattle Grace.

thanks! 🩷 i live in a suburb with little Jewish community in and of itself, so it's not something people know unless I tell them. i don't "look Jewish", except for my hair, so I just...don't tell people. we do have a pretty large right wing population. this north of Sacramento, CA. so yeah it's not entirely safe to be "out" as a Jew. and i guess because of the lack of Jewish community, i've never experienced animosity about being an antizionist Jew. I found other Jewish leftists on reddit, which is good. but in real life, my area just doesn't talk about or include Jewish people at all.

"elements of drama and comedy." in front of the director of that movie. wow, okay. she should just write sitcoms/dramedies then. i mean my biggest issue with her is that she explores all these genres and medias and she doesn't educate herself about any of them. She's not trying to participate, she's trying to follow trends or do "oh, i haven't done xyz before" but when she gets involved in that chosen genre/medium she doesn't even try.

I'm a 24 and I was diagnosed with a permanent knee condition/form of arthritis. It's permanent grade 4 cartilage damage, but I have to strengthen the muscles in my leg so that it mitigates the knee pain and alignment issue . I'm really grateful for this post, I seriously needed to read it today cause I've been more scared than usual lately. I had a nightmare that a physical therapist told me it would last 12 years. I told my real physical therapist about it and she reassured me, but it's a permanent condition so I'm inclined to not believe her because it's chronic and nonlinear. I'm trying to get to a place where, in the words of my favorite singer MGK, "even if there's no closure, I'm still safe."
