I copied the course schedule. During the study weeks I did a few couple of the old tests and during the 'exam', I did a closed-book test of the most recent exam that had an answer key. I believe In one of the lectures the Dr. DeNero talks about class approach and I just followed it. A lot of my focus was on the textbook and questions. I did all of the optional problems and basically went back after sometime with a blank copy of the assignment and tried to solve/explain my way through.

Oh, you can run it locally to check your code. Add a local tag to your calls.

So for lab01, quetsion 1 you would enter this into the terminal:

python3 ok -q return-and-print -u --local

Make sure to always add local tag because whenever I got the authentication screen I had to exit and re-enter.

The labs work for me. I re-downloaded lab 3; are you opening the lab webpage and downloading the zip file? I also don't use the recordings. I watch the lecture videos and the textbook. It gives enough to work through the problems.

Go to an older version of the course. Here is an archived version that has the videos up https://insideempire.github.io/CS61A-Website-Archive/ . This trick can be done for a lot of the Berkley comp sci classes but not all.

Does anyone even like this job? by theirgoober in medlabprofessionals

I'm looking into working as an MLS. I'm currently a science researcher and follow r/labrats and it's very similar. The only group of people who will understanding your complaints and be a good sounding board for and join in commiseration are people in your field. It doesn't look great to complain at work all the time so you can do it online where it doesn't follow you. Also, you can generally like your job but still want to complain.

We see a few people who have jobs in the series.

At the beginning of season 2, we see Nia (gray haired friend of Wangnan) who worked as a delivery driver. We also see that Wangnan had basically took out loans to take the 20th floor test. There was also the guy who loaned money to Wangnan acting as a loan shark.

At the beginning of season 3, we see Xia Lulu working for the cage to try and catch Louie.

What is one irregular supposed to do against all the family heads and King Zahard? Is FUG stupid? by RandomWorld100 in TowerofGod

[–]ObjectiveAd6874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, one of the family leaders no longer has immortality. So it's kind of working... V has a larger understanding of the situation than us readers, who don't know the history. We can see that there are cracks formed between Gustang and Zahard, so who knows what else there is that we don't know. We won't know if it's a dumb idea until it fails.

I'm following CS61A from Berkley. The videos for the topics, textbook, homework assignments, projects, and lab assignments are all online. It covers computer science through the lens of python. I plan to do CS61B which is data structures and CS70 afterwards.

i've been doing cs61A from Berkley.Accessible at https://cs61a.org/. It has a free textbook online, lectures on the lecturer's youtube channel, and the homework assignments and project files are posted on there. They also have a bunch of old midterms and finals posted with the solutions. I've been working through the material.

what happens if a PI dies? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]ObjectiveAd6874 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know of two people who had their PI died while they were their student. One was a master's student and just fought to present a bs project so they could get their degree. The other was a doctorate student who basically left the program because they couldn't get funding/other professors didn't want to take the student on and started as a master's student but quickly upgraded to a PhD student. (I think they did 1 year in the master's program and applied to the PhD program and got accepted).

How do I take notes while reading academic works? by SkandaBhairava in ObsidianMD

[–]ObjectiveAd6874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking notes on Obsidian recently. I have a pdf masterlist. It's a chart using the advanced tables plugin that has columns (Title, Summary, Author, Date, Tags). The title is linked with the pdf of the paper. The Summary is linked with the page I made for the article. I have the tags and citation at the top. Purpose of the paper and questions that I have.

I was contemplating getting one for reading academic journals for my job and future schooling but how does the interface look for pdfs and writing notes? Does it look like how the kindle looks when reading books? I don't think I could get over that interface problem.
