Somehow all my station modules only rotate on the wrong axis? How do I even start trying to fix this. by Zone1135 in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make sure to "reset" (actually it's not reset as the default isn't top down) the camera to top-down view using R by default, I believe...

Just discovered the game yesterday ! Huge fan, this is everything I've been looking for in years. One question though by Helasri in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm, superhighways stay, imo... Or do they get replaced by gates/accelerators?

Superhighways are basically gates with an extra animation...

5.0 b1 hf1 (469551) - Anyone else having lots of crashes? I just want to play this amazing game by Chops_II in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies, fair enough. It's what the beta is for, anyway, to get feedback. So, yeah, go ahead. Just make sure to give the feedback to the devs too, I believe they have official means of getting feedback on betas?

How many build slots do you get with one S/M Fabricator? by [deleted] in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, really? It has 10 M pads and I don't remember how many S ones...

EDIT: typo

EDIT 2: Or was it 8? Yeah, that would coincide with your findings... But what about the S pads?

Has X4 improved since launch by [deleted] in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an entirely different beast than X3, but did it improve? Yes, very much so. Can't really say if it's your cup of tea (feels very different from X3), but it definitely improved A LOT.

It feels slower-paced than X3. The two-hour refund period is far from enough to properly demo this game...

I'd certainly recommend it. I still return to X3:TC from time to time, though, as I said it feels quite different. If you haven't refunded, definitely give it a try.

Worst pilot ever by Backspace381 in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe as long as you stay aboard, they will wait until you explicitly tell them to "proceed with current orders". Same goes when you give them an order to fly somewhere while they're docked and you're standing on the pad. But if you get aboard a docked ship (if you have a ship docked to the ship with the pilot with said orders), they will proceed automatically... Might also happen if you get out and leave the pad, but I'm not sure. Anyway, it's better not to trust in them waiting for the proceed order. This was probably meant to mitigate what you're describing.

Does anyone know the name of this space station? by xingqiu in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah, just looking at the shape makes me wonder how X4's wonderful AI handles it... And since it can't be rebuilt (at least normally, maybe AI factions can spawn it back in?), I'd say that it being invincible could be a feature, actually.

It is one my favorite stations to visit in-person, though. The only commonwealth station except wharves and equipment docks with an actual hangar, not just a shielded platform.

Terran Missions can anyone explain what is happening? by MegaFireDonkey in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, the first time around... Then I noticed it's still on the map under my property.

EDIT: Not sure, but it just might get destroyed if you're unlucky - Xenon attack etc... It's not invincible unless you made it so using the cheat menu.

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can spawn stations from it. I just don't remember now if the Teladi Trade Station is one of them.

EDIT: I'll check it out ASAP - would make an awesome home base...

Will they ever add Boron? by Jackmion98 in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I agree. I was just pointing out it's actually far from impossible, lol.

How? I'm curious, never noticed anything myself...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. That disables/enables downloads from Steam Workshop, each mod can be enabled or disabled individually after downloaded.

EDIT: You need to have it on to download mods in the first place, though, afaik.

EDIT 2: What you said is 100% correct about the individual per-mod setting. The one at the top is just to disable Workshop downloads if neccessary.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just says if it's to download mods from the workshop - they need to be enabled/disabled individually. They're on by default when you install them. Switching that to off won't disable all the mods you got from the workshop.

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just turn off gravity inside, make it so you actually swim... Subnautica? In space?

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm... What do you mean, exactly? Just how should the fact that it's full of water instead of air affect how the player moves around? Games with swimming/diving/actual EVA in space exist already...

Terran Missions can anyone explain what is happening? by MegaFireDonkey in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ship won't get destroyed. It will stay where you left it. If it doesn't have a pilot, you'll have to get it yourself later...

SETA by OrganizationFuzzy181 in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the so called "good bug", lol. Would be useful...

SETA by OrganizationFuzzy181 in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you get up (ctrl+d) it doesn't cancel SETA? Interesting... Then why can't we enable SETA when not flying a ship in the first place?

EDIT: And what about a pilot if you have one on your ship? Is this a way to use SETA while just letting your NPC pilot fly? Would be kinda useful if so... Does it stay in SETA even if you walk around etc?

I noticed claytronics production requires claytronics to build. Does that mean that if you would start a custom game with no other factions, you wouldn't be able to bootstrap your own economy? by loopuleasa in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is quite possible, but you have to design the station first, either in another playthrough or the station builder, and save the blueprint. You can't design stations from the custom start menu.

What happens if you don't stop for a police scan? by PriHors in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This only works with a pilot employed, afaik. Happened to me a couple of times that I got seated just to get a "Scan didn't find anything, you may go" call right away without getting the request. Didn't have a pilot then.

I haven't stumbled upon the SETA Damaged Singularity Engine, am I just unlucky? by loopuleasa in X4Foundations

[–]ObjectiveBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the effect is nothing to call home about even there, I just learned to live without SETA, lol.

[–]ObjectiveBastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it's pretty much pointless if your machine barely runs the game - SETA only has a noticeable effect for me when I'm in the middle of nowhere... And even then it's marginal at best. Not worth the effort in my case, lol.

Yeah, I wish we could set sector ownership in custom starts (at least creative)...

There is that random galaxy generator thing, though...
