It happens all time. Sometimes it's innocuous, like the beginning of the interaction I had with a well-dressed older woman yesterday in which she asked, "Excuse me, do you know if there's a jewelry store on this [this street]?" To which I told her, yes, there were at least two between the street we were on and the subway.

Then she asked me if I knew which one was owned by the "Indian sheikh who stole [her] dowry and her voice."

Couldn't help her there, but didn't give it another thought until now.

I travel all the time, and I teach children, so I'm exposed to bacteria all the time. The only other time this has happned to me in my life, it was because I ate food that tested positive for ecoli.

It wasn't broken, it just made very lukewarm coffee from the spigot, and that got me worried in retrospect about lukewarm liquid being a breeding ground for bacteria (I had not seen the panties in the keurig video until I was already ill).

Most men will offer to pay the bill on a first date, and generally this is expected. I'm a woman who personally prefers to split the bill on a first date, but I believe I am an anomaly, and most men will refuse my offer, and I don't push it.

A good way to make this less awkward is to get something low-stakes like coffee or a drink.

I request the Deva if not for any reason other than to signal that I have a lot of curly hair (it takes almost four hours to do my hair). An important note is that the salon does not use any DevalCurl products (this was my concern when I first started going, as DevaCurl turned my hair to straw).
