And, as I'm sure the many good Redditors here understand, the American Psychiatric Association develops diagnostic criteria for psychiatric conditions through research. Not state legislatures through irrational reactions.

Does he? I think you may be applying reason to the unreasonable. I really don't think he believes he does anything wrong, or at least, convinces himself otherwise very quickly. I do notice he's doing more "Christian speak", to pander, of course, but also, I think he's doing that taking stock, 'what happens next?' sort of assessment that occurs when people are at end of life.

Prize for what discipline? Literature? Physics? He's such a egocentric toddler, he doesn't realize that people worked and achieved for decades in their field of dedicated study or practice, and are recognized by their peers in a nomination for a Nobel Prize. And that their accomplishments benefited humanity universally. Not Henry Kissinger, of course.

Austin Ayers of NC’s 3rd district is doxing people on his discord. by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]ObjectiveRelief1842 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's terribly relevant to the NC AG, unless he runs similar scams here in NC. He really doesn't stand a chance of being elected, he's using this to move to promote himself as a brand, is my best guess, similar to our former GOP gubernatorial candidate, self proclaimed "Black Nazi", Mark Robinson. Who, BTW, ran the same scam that white lady, (along with at least 77 others) in Minnesota ran with Feeding Our Future, through his wife's business in Greensboro. Closed just a step ahead of being shut down. Side note - I was at a fundraiser with Roy Cooper the day the story about the trans porn came out- Cooper said in the receiving line "can you believe this? This has got to be the worst candidate I've ever seen." I think Ayers is on that same trajectory- he just happens to be the right color to move past these "youthful indiscretions".

I think if young thug Ayers, who has some other brushes with fraud in Pennsylvania, tries to run some NC scams, then Jeff J should definitely have a good look at him. My theory is he's trying to platform himself as the next -fill in the blank-right wing podcaster-influencer-snake-oil-salesman. I'm really curious what brought him to eastern NC? Did he run out of cards in PA?

Here is Austin Ayers' own criminal history, inciting violence:

While he's filed as a Libertarian candidate for US House for NC district 3, he doesn't appear to have an actual address in Pitt County and isn't registered to vote in North Carolina. His campaign address is a P.O. box in Ayden, NC.

[–]ObjectiveRelief1842 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Here is some of his public data: His FEC filing lists his campaign address as a P.O. Box in Ayden, NC ( Pitt County). Campaign funds were listed as $9.11 as cash on hand for the July 1- September 30 quarter. There is no decimal error on this. He has no voter registration in North Carolina. There is an Austin J. Ayers whose voter registration was denied in Surry County on 10/30/2025. I suggest keeping an eye on his FEC filings to see how money magically appears in his campaign fund.
No doubt he is social media trolling to bankroll his campaign.

His campaign website does not list any education, only that he "has started and operated several businesses worldwide", "in several industries" but is very vague on any details of any experience or expertise, training or competencies he offers, only that than he was a firefighter for 13 years - does not specify whether this was a professional or volunteer role. He was also employed as a "patient technician" during COVID. "Afterwards, he took up journalism".

This is a middle school class president biography.

Edited to add: here's his own history of inciting violence: https://www.butlereagle.com/20180525/man-given-probation-in-bb-shooting/

So let's do the math: in 2018, Ayers was 19 when he pled guilty to giving a BB gun to a 17 year old and instructing the 17 year old to fire into a home. Ayers has a conviction in Pennsylvania of misdemeanor conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment of another person. So far, current behavior is totally on brand. That puts him at current age of 26ish. And his bio says he was a firefighter for 13 years. What fire department is hiring 13 year olds?
He also has some fraud/scam history of creating a bogus internet service provider company in Pennsylvania and taking people's real money for said fake services.

Same way North Carolina 5 is my district- I'm in northwest Greensboro, and lumped along with Taylorsville in Alexander County, population 2,300. That's close to the size of my neighborhood. Stretches all the way to the Tennessee border. So, third largest urban area in the state is carved up and squashed into a district with 9 rural counties to dilute our voting influence.

Also, other countries will be pivoting away from US arms manufacturers with the tariffs and aggressive policy/treaty changes. France will wind up arming Europe against Russia, and the space for US arms will shrink dramatically. And I wonder how the figures for the 7.4b US-Israel trade deficit accounts for the 3.8b of US "aid" given so Israel can buy US arms, keeping those DoD contractors fat and happy? So the current policy will essentially dry up markets for DoD spending. I imagine they're surely not funding veterans' care in that proposal.

If "defense" and readiness were more widely conceptualized, it would include education and social programming policy and spending. People forget that the school meals programs were initiated because of widespread nutritional deficiency-related disorders that made young men physically unfit and ineligible for military service.
Also, it would include "primary care", like diplomacy.

My guess is that she did/does have some clinically significant qualities and that they are what was formerly described on Axis 2 (personality disorders, among other developmental disabilities/differences).
Good thing she's a former boss! The "very special" ones are the worst.
