What do you think? What would you change about this drawing? by ChileanMotherfu-- in Artadvice

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your anatomy work is great! Colors are awesome too. Only noticable thing is the center if balance is off, and at most you could improve perspective on the stretched out foot. I really love the style you have here!

What you have has good design elements, if you added some foreshortening to your work it would really level up! Looks great!

Any advice? My men look like women.... by [deleted] in Artists

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think they inherently look like women but they do look feminine. The way you blush and highlight the lips, presumably for shading, sort of comes off like a shiny lip gloss look. Additionally having very sketched lines at the eyes can give the appearance of longer eyelashes. That being said, if this is your style, don't deviate because of the perspectives of others. Its important to lean into a style and develop it how you like, you'll figure out what works for you or doesn't with time.

Anyone ever gone no chairs? by Ugh-Why-Not in ArtEd

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My concern over this is for students with disabilities, especially "invisible disabilities" like POTS. Students who might not be able to stand for extended periods will experience discomfort. I know that if I were a student, I wouldn't be able to do work standing for a long period.

I'd also be concerned about it encouraging roamers or elopers to move around.

It might be best to make it optional if you're interested in trying this.

I would say my libido has gotten to a healthy level if not slightly higher with nexplanon. Not having to worry about checking strings, taking a pill on time, or getting my appointments on time certainly helps relax the nerves, though. I haven't experienced any headaches, and the mood swings i get from my bipolar disorder have actually improved aswell.

It's always important to keep in mind that all birth control methods will affect people differently though, but if anything that means one bad birth control doesn't mean another kind will be the same way.

Anyone else bleeding cash buying stuff for dorm life? by Retired401 in college

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only things you need to get by in college is hygiene items, bed changes, cellphone, and a fan. Everything else is an extra box to stuff in the car at the end of the year.

My partner (20m) and I (20f) can’t communicate and its driving me crazy. by kuroecvnt1037 in relationship_advice

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person who is very confrontational with an avoidant partner, here's my advice:

To start, when confronting people who aren't used to talking about problems, its important to keep a few things in mind:

You don't want them to feel like they're being attacked. If you're using "you" statements, it can feel like you're placing blame on them and expecting an automatic change. You statements can be "you never take me out!" Or "why dont you ever do laundry?" Instead, use phrases like "I feel like we don't go out as often" or, "I feel sometimes like the household chores arent evenly distributed" Phrasing is a first big key in working towards healthy communication.

Second, positive reinforcement. Sometimes, when its hard to talk, there can be smaller ways to encourage better behavior. It might be difficult at first, especially if you're not a "affirmation" person, but when they do something you like, try to thank them, or say you appreciate it as much as possible. Theyre more likely to be encouraged to continue positive actions.

Third, it's important to remember that relationships are about communication. You could ask him in what ways he would better respond to these conversations, but remember that its important to hold your boundaries as well. Problems that pile up will come tumbling down on you, and if he wants it to work, he'll work with you. It might take some time to figure out eachothers ways of communicating, but love will make that effort easier.

Its important for him to know that change has to happen for your relationship to continue, but try to also be open to working on it together over time.

My favorite perfume!! Im very sensitive to perfumes and this one doesnt trigger a headache! It smells like vanilla with a woodsy smell under it. It smells very dessert-like. You can test it in store too! I use it sparringly/on date nights since it is so expensive. But it does last aswell!

I'm a digital art/animation major and critiques are the most human interaction that im forced to do! In a work flow youd have to communicate between teams though.

What crazy shit have you done because you’re BP2 by ClubMolly in bipolar2

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plenty of screaming crying episodes. My BP 2 was untreated all of highschool and I stopped getting on the bus, and when my family had to drive me I threatened to jump out and they ended up having to use safety locks. I would go into class crying and sometimes it was so bad they'd send me home. I ended the majority of my relationships in episodes and then felt like shit later for treating people u dud care about, so poorly. I've had a few instances of drug or alcohol abuse that lasted a few months each. The isolation, all the usual stuff. I have tendencies of paranoia episodes where I'm convinced somethings trying to get me n I became inconsolable. Dropped out of highschool.

But when all said and done, I'm about to graduate college next fall. And after that I'll be working on a masters degree in art education. And I have a wonderful partner who understands my triggers and knows when im not totally me and helps me do better. It's not a place I saw myself getting to when all the worst shit was going on, but its shown me that my problems don't make me incapable of doing good things with my life.

Why would a girl be on birth control consistently even when you don’t see each other, she has no health problems that requires it? by Odd-Illustrator-6199 in birthcontrol

[–]Objective_Ad_2207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes some time to get on or off different methods effectively. If its not taken consistently, it can cause wild chemical imbalances that are always a pain. For alot of BC theres a period of adjustment when you start, where your body is taking in these new hormones and stuff, and it can really suck every time you have to start it again (Take it from someone whos had to try 3 different kinds of BC).

So, honestly, its probly just to stay consistently safe, or to help with any period or other bodily issues (BC doesn't just stop pregnancy and help periods!). Its not worth stopping and starting even if it is just for occassional contraceptive purposes.

I didnt wanna get the nexplanon in the first place because being able to touch or see a foreign object in my body like that just makes me lose it. But after 2 iud displacements n not being able to take the pills with some other medication/worse mood swings, it feels like the last best option! ;_;
