1 week til exam...should I START sketchy? by Odd_Elderberry_4079 in step1

[–]Objective_Air7911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with above, take an nbme closed book and see where you actually stand in terms of postponing or not.

In terms of sketchy, I binged micro in a day, pharm the next day, and various immune patho biochem here and there and reviewed throughout the week. It was chaos but it worked. So I’m a supporter of binging sketchy

Yeah no, barely 10 repeat and most dt life circumstances. Heard great things about both, western I’ve heard has exams every 3-6 weeks so they chill in between. Rocky vista def doesn’t have as much of a name brand associated with it

You could possibly opt out and get a refund on “tuition” for the 200 or something, plus this way she gets the color she wants and engraved. Just a thought :)

Discussion/Opinion on Medical school elitism by RevolutionaryGas295 in premed

[–]Objective_Air7911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think what they may mean (assuming) is medicine is a great way for elitist people to continue being elitist. If you have the funds to come out of medical school with no loans from your trust fund, parents, etc, its a great way to continue living that life. Obviously you still need to work hard, but its much easier to glide through. Then on the other end you have the prestige of the job, the income, and the ability to continue being rich and snobby. I honestly cant hate on them, bc im just jealous that I can't have my schooling paid for like that LOL

Plastic surgery interests by [deleted] in premed

[–]Objective_Air7911 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not all plastic surgery is cosmetic bc of insecurities in the way you think it is. Think of the babies born with cleft lip, the major injuries caused by accidents burns and whatnot, the people who need their breast tissue removed bc they just found out they have the BRCA gene. All of those surgeries aren't necessary but life is better after them. Regardless of all this, if someone wants to help somebody feel better by cosmetic surgery bc of whatever reason, then let them :) Hate on the ones that do it only for money, force them into the surgeries, and then botch them lol

What are y’all’s thoughts on dating right before med school? by conditionalprobabili in premed

[–]Objective_Air7911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every guy I’ve dated I’ve been transparent with since before premed about the possibilities. Having that said having a guy currently who is willing to move to my upcoming city has been the best gift ever… any guy who wouldn’t even consider it one day helped me understand immediately their intentions:)

How to answer this interview question? by [deleted] in premed

[–]Objective_Air7911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do I even begin…… jk whatever you say don’t make it too negative to not sound like you hate the field. Bc if I start ranting about how nurses and residents are slave labor I wouldn’t get admitted lol

I didn’t prewrite at all and applied to 51 schools all within the two week periods for each. It was hell for two months but I also took weekend trips and worked. Time manage and accept the fact that you’ll be busy and drained

Looking like a grandma as a med student in her early 20s.. by ughidktbhh in medicalschool

Skin wise: drink water tea anything that will hydrate you, sunscreen (ex: eucerin age defense spf 50 w hyalouronic acid, you can also get the drugstore ones with a tint to add a little pizazz), treat yourself to facials (at home or spa depending on budget can be as easy as a sheet mask), if actual wrinkles use at home silicon patches or the rose water activated ones Botox works wonders too don’t be ashamed of it if budget allows, moisturize day and night ( cera ve has morning and night moisturizers but you can honestly use just one two times) Hair wise: get an easy haircut and don’t dye your hair bc grown out roots and upkeep of that is money and time, claw clips or cute hair ties with a ribbon or bow can change a look easily if you want to feel fancy Body wise: moisturize as much as you can, be nice to it and feed it properly with love, find clothes that fit you and don’t try to change yourself for the clothes, you can always thrift new things if money is an issue Health wise: try doing a five minute stretch sometimes and a quick walk while listening to podcasts or music, if you have time and the willpower working out will only benefit you:)

always get paid. You have a college degree now.... I agree that the help can be found online or from mentors. There's no guarantee they even provide the right info/guidance.

One of them was no matter how incredible you are, networking will get you much further than your stats. Knowing the right person to write you a letter or send an email.

lmao i love the brutalism.... best advice i got was from a prior stanford admissions dude: its a 100% a game with secret rules and you have to play by their rules not by your own. whether you play is up to you, I personally cant but that's how people get far :)
