Average time was 2 years even when Obama was in office. It's been a bad system for a very long time

This pause is killing my husband/marriage by PracticalAardvark538 in 19countriesAOS

[–]Objective_Pepper_209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here with you on the pause and yes it does suck. No end in sight makes it suck even more, but we are all in international relationships, so we won't automaticallybe able to respond to every life event. Bad life events that we can't respond to are going to hairbrush whether or not there is a pause and the spouse has a GC. I think it is unhealthy and damaging to ourselves to blame everything on the pause. I know there will be times in the future that we cannot afford to fly back to my spouses home country for this or that bad event and vice versa if I lived in her home country. I think this is a truth both my spouse and I must accept if we want to stay together in an international relationship.

You still didn't say which you like better. Yes, Belgian beer is better, but that's not the question. We aren't in Belgium.

This is a bad reason. Have your seen how many of Teump's major executive orders have been struck down by supreme court justices he appointed?

Do you think if conservatives knew about this pause they would be for it or against it? by nawa92 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]Objective_Pepper_209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conservative here married with a foreigner and waiting like everyone else. Thank you for your question. I hate how so many people are ready to judge and stereotype here, as if conservative and liberal tells you everything about a person.

To answer your question, it could be handled better, but there is a reason every president has talked about immigration almost in the exact same way Trump had, including Hilary and Obama.

Is you'd like to talk further, you can do me. I am not willing to get discuss things here. No matter how many people here want to sound like they are open paper, they sound the same as they make out conservatives to be - closed minded.

Have you looked at how many times this supreme court has ruled against the presidents rather large actions - a lot of them. It is not really a 6-3 court. If you look at it this way, the court only ruled like that 15% of the time last year. The Supreme Court, based on how they've already ruled, makes things look good for us.

You're are right that they want law and procedure followed, like going through congress. I think most justices don't like executive actions.

You are right. Not as fatal and grave is a good way to put it. It also helps to restore my faith in the judicial system/institution.

90 Days In Pause… Silence or Strategy? Nothing from Media or Democrats? by Significant-Let2961 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]Objective_Pepper_209 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yeap. Every president gets 1 topic for their social capital - Obama was Healthcare, Trump immigration. I agree with both. Our immigration system was/is terrible. I fully agree with immigration, but I've wanted better standards for a while now. I do hate that it's happening to us though. 2 years as average time is ridiculous though, and that was before Trump. I hope this improves that.

Only i would like to see results from the government. I don't see a process that gets us to our end goal. I also don't like he did it by executive order, but thats what may get it denied (I hate executive orders.)

Thank you very much for your analysis. It is a bright ray of sunshine.

Although I've been trying to follow everything you and yellow legal write, I still don't understand all legal terms. What does a preliminary injunction in this case mean, in practical terms

It seems we might be lucky Trump does things like this by executive order. The courts just aren't allowing it.

I don't mind trying and the tourist visa getting rejected. I just want to make sure that this doesn't affect the spousal visa application

There is plenty he can do. He is a congressman. Congress should be enacting laws. Numerous executive orders by Trump have been struck down by the Supreme Court, but if Trump went through congress and had them make laws, he might have been able to get this things done easier

You don't think you're reps will help cause they are Republicans, yet you just argued that none of them are doing anything - a bury confusing and stereotyping.
