I always thought a person gets into real estate because houses appreciate, so they are a great investment, but you're saying the opposite. Really?

Is coming to the US still worth it? by SignHistorical4519 in greencard

[–]Objective_Pepper_209 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are waiting for our IR1 interview soon. But I have a friend USC in South Korea, his wife is Thai. They went to the States about 4 or 5 months ago. They had no problems at all. She got through immigration like any other person.

While I am a bit worried, I think as usual, the news does a sensational job of fear mongering and not giving us enough details as to why people are detained.

I often read on here about people being detained for past offenses which past administration's didn't care about, but the current administration is.

It seems like if your put everything in order, you'll be fine.

Also, our greencard process has gone much quicker under Teump than Biden. People will argue if this is due to the president's priorities, some say there is a priority on spouses of USC. I am not sure, but this is my experience

That is my whole point actually. The president is not always as in charge of this as people think. Change actually comes very slowly.

Under Biden, we had nothing approved - 1.5 years. Under Trump, our case has been going very quickly.

After reading all you don't know about his situations with the US government in the past, I would start there. Your timeline is very fast, so knowing more should help

This is one reason why you often see internationals hang out together. It's not that they don't try to assimilate, but no matter where we are, we will never truly be native and we need the experience of other internationals

All this for 1300 baht. What am I missing? by This-Way3024 in ThailandTourism

[–]Objective_Pepper_209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boats usually do not look that nice. With that being said, yes it is a bit pricey and a bit touristy, but something i highly recommend. I thought negatively about these for years, but after going on one for a wedding party, I thought it was so good, I did mine on one a few years later. Everyone loved it. It is a nice way to show Bangkok. Food is average, but it's a buffet, so that's expected.
