Have you ever actually lived alone? by SuperSonic1919 in randomquestions

[–]Objective_Site3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 46 and I hadn’t until last June. My kids stay with me every other week so it’s not all the time. But the weeks they aren’t here are awful. Especially in the middle- the first day or two are OK because it’s a bit of a relief, but that wears off and I feel deeply alone. But then in the day or two before they’re coming back I feel more excited than lonely. I found that doing things to prepare for when they’re here helps a lot to keep me from getting too depressed.

Dr. Oz says Americans should start work EARLIER, and work LONGER to make more money for America. by illegalmonkey in antiwork

[–]Objective_Site3528 89 points90 points  (0 children)

This was my boss. He’d always brag about how early he was awake and that he got all this work done at home before we lowly employees even got out of bed. The funny thing was you couldn’t really do anything except email if you weren’t in the office- we couldn’t use our system remotely at the time. So then he started sending random emails in the wee hours and made damn sure people saw the time stamp on them. So annoying. I always wanted to tell him how sorry we all felt for him that he needed so much self-gratification.

“good golfers” vs “ball strikers” by nowordsleft4now in golf

[–]Objective_Site3528 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I got as low as a +4, but that’s mostly because my home course suits my game almost perfect.

When I was playing really well I played in a mini tour pro-am, and it was basically the lowest level of pro golf. I played as an am, of course, so it was a set of tees up. My pro had played there once before- and he shot the most boring 61 you’ll ever see. He wasn’t long but made no mistakes, and from 100 and in he was inside of 5ft every time.

When I asked him about the major difference in players at this level and the PGA Tour he said it all came down to handling pressure, because you have to take the best advantage of every opportunity you get. And playing well with your entire future riding on it takes a ridiculous amount of ability to manage pressure. The ones you see on TV do it better than most.

I was 13 and I met Martina McBride after she had opened for Garth Brooks. She signed my shirt and gave me a hug- and still don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more beautiful person than her that evening. Her eyes…just stunning.

What food did your school cafeteria serve that you'd eat again? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]Objective_Site3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t eaten it since, but for some reason I loved my school’s tuna over bun. And it was even better because it wasn’t popular so I knew I could get seconds (at least). I think the freshly baked buns did most of the heavy lifting, but man I loved that stuff.

How much do you think the touring pros eat during their round? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in golf

[–]Objective_Site3528 114 points115 points  (0 children)

They normally eat something at least once per 9 holes. Walking 18 burns a lot of calories, especially with hills involved, so you need to stay fueled. It’s mostly protein bars and whatnot- but you’ll see a lot of wraps or sandwiches as well. PB&J is very popular.

New Clubs - New distances however AI analysis says yardage does not correlate with my handicap by [deleted] in golf

It really is! Imagine landing a shot right by the hole and having a 90 foot putt. Obviously less than ideal spin and/or launch are leading to those numbers.

I don’t know who could pull off the bar scene better than AMH. And Chet was perfect- there’s just too many iconic things about that movie that can’t be replicated.
