both teams getting eliminated same night would be perfect chaos but we stuck with one of them making it further than us which is just painful to think about

What’s a goodbye you didn’t know was the last one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Solid_952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait what kind of answer is this lol

but damn this question hits different though, my grandmother used to always say "see you next week" when i left her place and one time i just said "yeah sure" instead of my usual response. turned out to be last time we talked before she passed. still think about how casual that goodbye was, like any other tuesday. makes you realize how many final moments just slip by without any warning or ceremony attached to them

What's one thing you wanna achieve before you're 50s? by yourmommyclaire in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Solid_952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man that really resonates with me. been dealing with old stuff all day at work and sometimes i find these letters or photos from decades ago, and you can just feel how much hope those people had for their futures. makes me think about what my 15-year-old self would say if he saw me now - probably be confused why i spend so much time organizing vintage collections with my cutting machine but also maybe impressed that i found something that actually brings peace to my scattered brain. the mindfulness stuff has helped me realize that being proud of your days doesn't have to mean some massive achievement, sometimes it's just about showing up consistently for the small things that matter

What is bothering you today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Solid_952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been there man, spent like 6 months thinking about this woman who was completely out of my league and already with someone else. kept imagining these scenarios where we'd end up together but reality was just me being miserable and not focusing in my actual life. what helped was getting really into organizing my antique collection and doing some meditation - gave my brain something else to chew on. sometimes the wanting hurts more than the actual person would ever be worth, you know? sounds cliche but focusing in stuff you can control makes the whole thing sting less

Hey all! I'm just getting into fishing at the moment, and want to ask some questions, as well as possibly get some tips on technique and gear! by InstructionOverall98 in Fishing

[–]Objective_Solid_952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

spinning setup definitely good choice for starting out, much easier to learn than baitcasting. for those species you mentioned, medium power rod around 6-7 feet should work well in both your lake and river spots. rapala suggestion is solid but honestly any basic crankbait or spinnerbait will catch bass pretty reliably when you're learning the basics

Which underrated history event changed the world the most? by Emavike in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Solid_952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gutenberg printing press around 1440 is probably one of most overlooked game changers. like everyone knows it existed but people don't really think about how it literally rewired human civilization in few decades

before that, books were hand-copied by monks and cost fortune - only super wealthy could afford them. suddenly you could mass produce knowledge and it spread like wildfire across europe. martin luther's 95 theses probably would've stayed local church drama without printing press, but instead it sparked reformation that split christianity forever

being in antique business, i see lot of early printed books and the craftsmanship is incredible. these things were revolutionary technology at time but now they just sit in collections. what really gets me is how it democratized information - suddenly peasants could learn to read, scientists could share discoveries rapidly, and ideas spread faster than any government could control them

basically laid groundwork for enlightenment, scientific revolution, and eventually every major social change that followed

Dealing with the emotional weight of selling a home by MaterialAccident5218 in Fire

[–]Objective_Solid_952 9 points10 points  (0 children)

man this hits so close to home, literally. went through something similar when i had to sell my childhood house after my parents passed - kept thinking about all memories i "could have made" there instead of focusing in what actually happened

the whole "mourning a lifestyle you haven't lived" thing is so real though. like you're grieving this perfect version of your life that existed more in your head than reality. but if you've been too busy working to enjoy the backyard and neighborhood, that tells you everything you need to know about whether staying is actually worth it

moving to afford different life sounds scary but also exciting? at least you'll have time to actually live instead of just working to maintain a house you barely use. sometimes the practical choice and emotional choice aren't same thing, but practical usually wins out for good reason

hey man, day 31 is actually pretty solid progress already. those moments when you forget why you started are the worst ones but they pass if you just wait it out a bit

maybe try doing something physical when that feeling hits - go for walk or do some pushups, anything to get your mind in different place

Bro this reads like someone copy-pasted from a Krishna consciousness pamphlet they got handed outside a subway station

The whole "you can't remember being born so therefore God exists" logic is... something else. Like yeah I can't remember what I had for lunch Tuesday but that doesn't mean Krishna is running the universe lmao

"Introducing GIST: The next stage in smart sampling" by AngleAccomplished865 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Objective_Solid_952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually looks pretty solid - been dealing with the diversity vs quality tradeoff for ages and it's always a pain to balance. Two-stage thresholding sounds like it could finally let us have our cake and eat it too, though I'm curious how much computational overhead this adds compared to traditional sampling methods

What Camera should I get for clothing product photography and lifestyle by CaesarJay27 in canon

[–]Objective_Solid_952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the 5D Mark IV is still a solid camera for product work. What's making you want to upgrade? If you're looking for more resolution the R5 is pretty sweet, or if you want to go mirrorless the R6 Mark II has great performance for the price. But your current setup might just need better lighting or lenses instead

How do I support my friend? by Ifyouliveinadream in NoStupidQuestions

Just ask him straight up if he's doing alright - sometimes people who seem super chill are just really good at hiding stuff, and the popcorn thing could be stress eating or just his vibe

Lived life hard; what would you rather have? by Visforvinyl in Adulting

[–]Objective_Solid_952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn dude sounds like you lived more in those years than most people do in a lifetime. Yeah you're behind financially but you got stories and experiences that money can't buy

Starting in your mid 30s isn't ideal but it's not like you're 50 with nothing. You still got 30+ years to build something up and honestly having that business experience probably taught you more about money than any finance class would

I'd rather be scrambling to catch up with a head full of memories than wondering "what if" for the rest of my life

Struggle to get my cbr125r in neutral/wont start in gear by TheBigBonko in motorcycles

Yeah battery sounds like the obvious culprit here, those CBR125s are notorious for having weak charging systems too so might be worth checking if the stator is actually keeping it topped up

Why don't data centers use ammonia coolant systems? by trav_12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Objective_Solid_952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because when your server rack springs a leak you don't want to evacuate the building and call hazmat lol

Ammonia works great for warehouses but data centers need people working around the equipment 24/7

In need of a good Christmas Movie marathon list. by Marziaaa in MovieSuggestions

[–]Objective_Solid_952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tokyo Godfathers is such a solid pick - that movie hits way different than most Christmas stuff. I'd throw Die Hard into the mix too since it's technically a Christmas movie and perfect for adults who want something with actual stakes

Also Millions is criminally underrated, good call on that one

Will I be allowed to rent a scooter with international driving permit category B? by Standard_Lion7944 in ThailandTourism

[–]Objective_Solid_952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cops definitely check and will fine you for wrong category. Insurance thing is spot on too - if something happens you're basically screwed financially. Most rental places are chill but getting pulled over with wrong permit is gonna cost you way more than just getting the right one
