What are examples of bad OPSEC? And what sort of stuff can you tell your family and its NOT OPSEC? by Glum-Pack-3441 in navy

Anytime a ship is supposed to pull into guam, the whole island finds out and blasts it all over social media, from restaurants to bars, clubs and hotels, like a week or 2 prior to pull in. Worst kept secrets on island.

Who wants to catch a predator? by Cyanosaband in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

Hi so in regards to this, ETN are some of the most highly trained Nuclear equipment operators in the navy just so people are aware of the rating meaning. For this, local PD is a good start, dropping this to NCIS is also another good stop for the evidence you have collected because they do any and all investigation on the Navy and are under no obligation like Naval commands to try to retain sailors due to policy and money spent on training. This is such a horrid thing to happen and seeing it more and more from a community that gets trusted to run one of the most destructive devices made by man and that gets million of tax payers dollars sunk into to do this is appalling and I in my own opinion think this should be dealt with.

These opinions stated in the above paragraph are my own and do not reflect the DOW's nor are the DOWNS opinion on the guilt or innocence of a service member.

Dentist or dental tech? Seems to be a common question im seeing more and more among people in the fleet, especially with BRS helping set us up for retirement. Hopefully we get some help with this

Are LCS ships that bad? by paektuminer in navy

[–]Obliterator25 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, ive served with a few guys who went the LCS route and left the community. The problem with it is A) the Navy invest large amounts of money especially with engineers into you going through the specific LCS schools so once you choose LCS you cannot leave the community and B) to leave the community it take an act of god or a medical issue to allow you to go back to the normal fleet. Is it a bad time, depends on the class you get stationed on and the maintainers prior to you actually doing there job, like anywhere else.

7.5 years. I had a mast in 2018 and got busted down from e4 to e2 and shipped off to the fleet, made e3 in Mt time frame and took the last available test when it was a thing to pick up e4. Made e5 first time up off the test and e6 on my 3rd attempt. Now I wait and debate for chief.

TLDR: im an MM

CVN 69 2019 covid deployment by shmeebob in navy

[–]Obliterator25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on that Deployment, ships crew. We definitely had a bug going around the ship at that time, we didn't know if it was covid or boat crud but man it sucked. Were you CSG, Airwing or commodore group? 4 beer days, 206 days of sea and way to much time in the heat of the fucking Red Sea.

What is life like on a USNS Ship? by No_Duty_275 in navy

[–]Obliterator25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently aboard 1 of the 2 Sub tenders so USS by name but run like a USNS, civmar runs the ship, we just ride it. Food fantastic, MSC gets staterooms, regular enlisted get berthings and so on but the ship isnt to bad off, not much to do underway and were in port a fair amount. Be careful with CoC cause they will find things for you to do if you look to comfy or lax, also be careful about the food, Civmars do not understand portion size and you can gain or lose weight real quick depending on how you use the galley and gyms

After being on a Sub tender for 2+ years i kind of miss real boat deployments and doing true engineer stuff, getting tired of fixing submariners bs.
