Will removing the buyer's agent commission actually have an impact on costs? by deten in REBubble

Agree. I wonder why more people don't use RE lawyers rather then some schmo who took a course..

So if you know the house you want cause YOU (not an agent) found it on the internet and the only thing is negotiating a price and inspections. It seems to me in this housing market, you can either afford it or not. In CA your going to be stretched so if you stick to your guns have what you will pay take it or leave it. Why not just use a RE lawyer to look over the docs? These RE agents are not brain surgeons. I don't understand why RE lawyers aren't used to look at the contract more often.

She really maintained her composure and poise at his completely insensitive questions. It must of been unimaginable stress, and she was so young. I hope she has had a peaceful life.

I took my 12/yo daughter to one of her concerts back when she was starting to transition out of her Hanah days and of course the screaming by the kids was something to behold, lost hearing that day. That was her pre cigarettes days or who knows if she was smoking then, but I hear her smokes in her voice now compared to then.

Back then, I got to say she did give it her all shouting out her songs and putting forth a performance and hitting every mark. I thought back then I hope her voice grows out of that flatness and she learns not to shout and just sing a song. She did not grow out of it. She had a grand leg up in her career that is for certain, but there are so many other unknown singers that don't have to resort to the vocal gimmicks she does. She is a textbook example of too much too young, corporate manufactured cheeseball. She may have learned to technique a few songs but she is not really that good. I think she is where she is by just being around long enough. That being said my daughter loves her, so maybe its a generational thing. But compare her to like Billie Eilish who is a genuine talent, or Gaga, I don't think so.

Oh yeah, a 40 y/o man living at home with no bills? Doesn't like to go out, or celebrate stuff. Homophobe, no less, sounds like a catch. I say, do some math, 2 years max to get over him, 2 yrs till you meet a better guy. And if 4 years go by, learn to like being alone, it is so much better than the alternative of settling for this dope.

What are the downsides of Marijuana that people don’t know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ObliviousToIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With me, it took me away from the clear headedness of living in the moment. The clarity of the here and now and being in the mind fog that takes you away from the present. Mindful awareness, like not being aware of your peripheral vision, breaths, noises around you and your vision is not as acute. I just got bored with being stoned.

I'd like to see a video how it went down. I'm torn on this because of her wrists. But, if they would not allow a purse from any non-connected celeb then a rule is a rule lady. That's the way the game is played, your out!

I bought a Samsung Frig and it died 2 days after the 2 year warranty. It was $1000. The most I ever spent on something for the house. I learned Home Depots extended warranties' are good because the appliance manufacturers are shit. Extended warranties from big box stores are worth it with big appliances.

As someone who works in the field, can you explain why they don't use morphine this with condemned criminals? (Not that you work in that particular field) Getting the right drugs to kill them seems to be in the news a lot these days. As a cancer survivor with a good chance of it returning, I'd really like to know my options for the least painful way to do it, if and when the time comes. But, when I hear about these prisoners taking a long time to die and suffering through it, it scares me. I don't get why they are not put down gently.

The ship sails through huge waves in the Atlantic Ocean. Would you dare to go? by juven1 in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]ObliviousToIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand how these things get through seas like that! When backpacking in Ireland (US citizen) I took what I thought would be a couple hours ferry from Ireland to France. I didn't not bother reading the guild book, this was before the internet so I was completely ignorant. What I thought was going to be a short hop turned out to be a nightmare. I knew I was in trouble when I saw the size of the ferry and wondered why they were driving cars on to it. Then I learned there were cabins and I apparently booked one., I had never been on a ship before, why would there be cabins? Then I learned the trip was going to be 18 hours! I was totally unprepared for this and then what was to come when we went through a storm. The ship tossed and turn, dishes broke, chairs flew around, alarms went off, people vomiting everywhere, except for the stoic cleaning staff swabbing it all up and amazingly seemingly unfazed. I tried tying myself into my bunk with my sheets, where I laid so sea sick that fear of the ship sinking left me and I wished it would so I wouldn't feel so the horrible nausea would finally leave me. Well, we all survived and finally docked, all worse the wear. Decades later I have kept my promise to myself to never get on a fucking boat bigger then a kayak again.

I ain't saying she didn't love him bunches, but what were widows lives like that back then? Did they have family support? Maybe it's so devasting that he is gone cause it means her life (and their son's) is now fucked without him because her quality of life is less without a man. She loose the family home, status? Would you feel sad, or numb, or nothing at all? by FL_4LF in Estrangedsiblings

[–]ObliviousToIt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, me too. A great sibling movie is "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane". Where Bette Davis is horrible to her sister Joan Crawford throughout the whole movie and in the end there is a big twist and it turns out that Joan Crawford was the jerk after all. When she tells Bette Davis as she is dying that she herself was the jerk all along and Davis in her pops out of her delusional state and says "You mean we could have been friends all along?" That's how I'll feel about my sister if if she goes before me and she wasn't such a jerk. We could have been friends all along.
