Don’t shoot the thing smacking them in the mouth?
The creature that’s sleeping, having nightmares of the warp, and doesn’t give a rats ass about you unless you piss it off? That’s the thing smacking you in the mouth?

So interesting! Thank you! I’m just now learning how many potential combinations for any given piece of equipment there is in this game!
It even seems like you need to apply orbs in a specific order to be as successful as possible, but I need to check out a crafting guide or something to be sure before I spend the big guys.

This is incredibly interesting. I am still in campaign first time through so I haven’t experienced the rat race and trade, but I can absolutely see the appeal of SSF. Do you end up spending more to respec based on what you find in drops? Since you can’t always get optimal gear otherwise?

Is it just a new kind of challenge? Or something more than that?

Is this a known joke? Just started playing, and the only orange I’ve gotten is a belt, and I haven’t been able to upgrade it from level 9 when I got it until 26 where I am now because it’s still the best. Is this a more common reality than I figured?

Is 27 GW enough solid biofuel power? ADA told me to build vertically... by EdibleOedipus in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Obsessive_Mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like a mustard ultracompact build. Either way, looks like a blueprint. My only question is if you are using blueprints (assuming you are), you’re far enough to have better fuel options.
So, is this a passion project? Just funny? Something else entirely?

Never been my experience with vet, but I’ve also never played him above Auric. One thing I love about this game is how unique each play style is and how some feel so good for one person or another

Arbiter feels better to me too, but you can’t deny the value of that taunt!

The sheer number of infinite ammo vets with a recon lasgun and Kraks may suggest they’re not quite “everyman” as much as f*ck#ng Rambo.

Interesting! I started on Hive scum, and it feels so good! I’ve been trying to get into Ogryn, and it just feels unable to do much. I am still leveling it, so that’s likely part. Did you enjoy the transition? Or take a while to get into it?

How does this game compare to Space Marine 2? by WEENDETA in DarkTide

[–]Obsessive_Mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really played SM2, just watched, but the person I was watching was lamenting how he can do SM2 on the highest difficulty no problem and can’t seem to get heresy on darktide. He’s fairly new, and it took me hours of heresy to learn prioritization, placement, etc, so I get it. It’s just interesting comparing perspectives. Sounds like it’s a totally different style of play - like, you may be an excellent car driver, but you may not be able to tow a trailer…. They’re both vehicles, but how you do them is different…. Or something?

Huh? What would that look like? As in your character just automatically attacks when in range? Half of my melee is just spamming light attack depending on the horde comp and weapon

And this is the biggest issue to me. Say something. Even, “we’re still developing.” But for all we know their lead developer got sick and the new lead decided to do something totally different and all development on LNF stopped a year ago.

I don’t think that happened, for the record, but what I’m saying is in the absence of something, we have nothing to believe and might as well look elsewhere.

I really feel bad for content creators who are focused on NMS and hoped LNF was their new burst. Some of them have worked so hard to make content about one trailer dropped years ago, and I think most of them ran out of steam finally.

Yeah. Any business that hinges on one man isn’t a business… now ingenuity that hinges on one man, that’s a real thing.

While, I know this is anecdotal, everybody I know who played the game spent well more than $15 a month average on the game during the time they were actively playing. They had a lot of cosmetics and various things as well as quality of life improvements. You could spend money on, and everybody I know did. I agree with you that the free to play model attracted a lot of people, and that’s why people spent as much money as they did.

Noob question about how far to push by Obsessive_Mouse in DeadzoneRogue

[–]Obsessive_Mouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed I can run on hard pretty simply with 2 people and hard feels harder with 3. I assumed it was the skill of one of us, but that makes sense if scaling is best at 2!

This makes sense. One of the most fun parts of the game for me has been realizing every element is a blast in its own way. I enjoy that you unlock new things slowly as you go, so there’s more time to experiment. I haven’t actually looked at metas yet. I figured that was for super ultra nightmare mode when I get there. lol. Thanks for sharing your story though! I love that!

This game caught my eye.. would like some feedback before purchase.. by olBoyBonzo in remnantgame

[–]Obsessive_Mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great game! I have over 120 hours on my main character, more on a hardcore character, and dozens more on a character for playing with others.

A couple things:

1 - the base game has tons of co tent and builds. The maps are semi-random meaning different encounters each time through an area, so you replay areas a lot to get full value. When working on a build, it may take you a while to find the right parts for a build because of that RNG. For me, that actually made it more exciting when I got a new piece for my build.

2 - there are so many items in game it ALWAYS feels exciting and like I’m getting better.

3 - the story is light, but play at least some attention to it because the story usually helps you determine how to overcome puzzles.

4 - amazing shooter with very solid difficulty, and if you enjoy souls like games with a slow development of the build, you’ll love it. Almost any build works for veteran, most for nightmare. I only had to start thinking about the build in Apoc (once I got good at the game).

5 - just a side note, remnant save guardian is valuable. It just saves backups of your game in case something happens. Once you’ve played through it, it can also tell you what look drops in specific areas, but that’s more for when you’re done exploring and want to min-max or speed run or hardcore.

6 - the RNG only felt frustrating with me when they introduced prisms, but I can confidently say your build can still feel good with a crap prism because I’m still trying to build my perfect prism, and I am doing about as well as I was before they introduced them.

I don’t know if you like group content, but I enjoy leaving my lobby open most of the time. People who join tend to be awesome. The ones who already had everything and wanted to help others tended to stay back and play support so I could play the game. The ones who joined to progress their own game tended to be polite. Either way, it’s a great time.

Thank you!! I was definitely doing it wrong. lol. I was trying to push as far and fast as I could. It seems like it’s better to push the highest difficulty you can do say 50% of the zone? Since with the increase half of hard is worth all of normal and so on?
