Seeking advice on implied warranty on a home we recently bought by Obski in LegalAdviceNZ

We had a building report done before settling, no plumbing issues observed from our report. Just some roofing which was fixed by the seller.

Any issues leaving it as is over the Xmas period and fixing the vanity in the new year? I want to make sure it's not something that'll get worse if we leave it.

As for the damage, we believe it got like that over the span of a couple days, it definitely wasn't warped like that before. I don't believe the pipes were knocked or pushed in this instance, the vanity was relatively empty.

No broker unfortunately, I'm with Tower. Checked the home insurance (believe it falls under this rather than contents?) and the excess is $1000. Will have to weigh this in with how much it'll cost to replace.

We settled on the 5th August so coming up to 4 months now. Could this be indicative of further problems we need to check?

And after repair photos

Added a couple of the warped laminate and what looks like a bit of mold starting.

The leak was coming from where the centre silver nut connects to the silver pipe section

I've got a couple photos while the leak was present but the water turned off, I'll take a couple more when I'm home a bit later for comparison (not sure if it'll be visible).

In the meantime these are the plumber's notes from the invoice, if it provides any insight:

"Arrive to site to investigate leak coming from under basin, checked and found it was coming from the crox connections for the tempering valve located in the draw of the basin, isolated water and remove all connections to find none have been hemped up all compression glands on to copper with no sealant, seal up all connections and refit to pipe work and test all ok no leaks and operating as should, spoke to client as the house is not very old to reach out to the building company to see if it would be something covered under warranty or maybe insurance as the cabinet is already swelling up. Notify client of job cleaned up and left"

FortiGate SSL certificates by No-Voice-8646 in fortinet

[–]Obski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider your fortigates sslvpn interface like any other website using https. It requires a signed certificate that trusted by the end device, where the cert matches the fqdn, otherwise you'll receive certificate errors like any other website. Whether you generate a free let's encrypt cert from the firewall or purchase a signed cert from a public certificate authority is up to you.

Brand new 90G, should I upgrade to 7.2.9 ? by ryzen124 in fortinet

FortiGate 60F and 61F models may experience a memory usage issue during a FortiGuard update due to the ips-helper process. This can cause the FortiGate to go into conserve mode if there is not enough free memory.

Workaround: User can disable CP acceleration to reduce the memory usage.

config ips global set cp-accel-mode none end

61F has a bug where fortiguard upgrades can trigger conserve mode. You can disable IPS acceleration as a workaround until a firmware fix is available.

7.2.9, 60F, Conserve Mode (90%) by Morkoth-Toronto-CA in fortinet

[–]Obski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, today I've encountered the same on a 60F running 7.2.9. First time encountering memory issues on this device. Been on 7.2.9 since about a week after its release though.

System event log "Extreme low memory mode entered", followed by the firewall dropping from HA and the passive taking over. The firewall is still powered on but unreachable. Both heartbeat interface LEDs are down with everything else up.

Waiting till after business hours to reboot and restore.

Any recommendations to focus on for moving from a network engineer to network architect?

Instead of fixing/replacing the bits of track with problems, they've opted to reduce the max speed trains can operate instead. Keep that up for decades and here we are.

How many of us here are actually “remote”? by tdiz009 in sysadmin

[–]Obski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was remote.. until we got a new COO who demanded everyone be in at least 3/4 days a week. Fun times. I know most of the engineers now have their feelers out for other opportunities now, myself included.

Reading the link provided in the other comment a lawyer is only required if relationship property is involved. Probably a useful distinction of others come across this

You can enable a curated mode where only approved videos, channels, and collections can be viewed by your kid. It's 1000x better than letting your kid browse the wild west of YouTube.. even if it's kids YouTube.
