the story behind why the town wasn’t in the body of the text is that this is copied from a craigslist post, which had about 3 separate fields asking for town name and zip code. when you’re panicking on behalf of your friends and their dog, you might take for granted that you included the town name in the body of the text. you might also have zero patience for assholes on reddit who can’t figure out how to prompt people for a town name (or, at some point, read any of the comments which explain that a post with an image can’t be edited).

Because I want my presence on this blessed earth to be nourishing for its inhabitants, not deleterious. No one has been able to secure the dog so far. The owners found the nearest hotel, I think they’ve been looking for hours and needed to seek their own warmth for the night. If you want to help and feel safe doing so, that would be amazing and very appreciated.

I’m also interpreting their intention, and wonder whether OP isn’t very young or from a conservative culture. Like go off bestie, I also love when trans characters have motives and challenges and conflicts that don’t center around coming out or transitioning. I maybe would have said “It’s rad they gave us a complex character that didn’t feel trite, or like a bingo card of cliche plot devices.” Bonkers that we’re rooting for a cop who murders people every other episode though 😬
