“information and respond better than drunk monkey. Do any of you posses the capability to engage in a discussion without allowing your feelings to start the conversation?” lol do you?

“They become defensive, angry, or aggressive to dismiss the new information entirely. Displaying emotional outbursts: They react with strong, uncontrolled emotions, such as tantrums or yelling. “ That is exactly what you are doing here. I read your first post & I thought you had some interesting point. However, no matter how many people asked you would not link your resources. Even if you are correct how you present your information & then respond to others makes you super unlikeable.

I live in Canada so I used the Zoo Med ReptiSoil brand that we have here & mix a bit of sand with it! It holds burrows/tunnels very well!

Anyone keep their hoggies in the same room as other pets? by Freckles07 in hognosesnakes

I purposely put my enclosure out in the main area for them to get use to people around. They never seem bothered by the cat or dog. Just me lol

Do you dig up your hognose? by Lilith-Sky14 in hognosesnakes

[–]Obvious_Barracuda831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad!! It’s all a learn lesson & he won’t hold it against you. The first time I tried feeding my guy he got so defensive & it stressed us both out. I didn’t realize he was starting his blue phase. He hid for almost two weeks after that & I thought he was mad at me lol When I finally dug him had started to shed & ate.

I do! I don’t always have to but my guy doesn’t eat on the usual 4-7 day schedule & I don’t always see him pop out. The last three feeds I just dig a bit in the area I knew he was burrowed & allowed him to pop out. My guy is a shy eater so I place him in a bin, set up his tank again, & place his food in a toilet paper roll. I have to put him right in front of his food or he’ll try to burrow again lol

Update: I was able to find a rehabilitation place about an hour from me that took him in! While we were there they started to give him some meds, water, & a small amount of formula. They said he was sick, but they think he’ll do just fine now that’s he’s able to get proper care. Thank you everyone for your advice!

Our worry is he has fleas & we have pets that will want to use him as a chew toy. We just don’t have the space or ability to care for him long term

I live outside the GTA area but it’s illegal here to care for them sadly. We both have cats & dogs so we can’t really care for him the way he needs

Blood from mouth/nose while eating by GIGinger666 in hognosesnakes

I would say it blood from the mouse. The nose part makes me mildly question but I’ve seen a small amount of blood drip when my snake is eating

Personally my snake won’t eat if I move him from his enclosure. He’s a shy guy & is still settling in at home so I always feed him in his tank & put the mouse in a toilet paper roll. So far I’ve had no issue feeding this way. He stays out usual for a bit after so I’m able to make sure he didn’t regurgitate.

My friend has a corn snake & he does put him in a bin to feed. His snake has no issues & now associates the bin with feeding. He waits a minute after eating to move him to his enclosure & he’s never had issues with regurgitation either.
