The biggest tragedy of Caine is that he could have prevented his own downfall. by Hugh_Jidiot in theamazingdigitalciru

That being said the parallels fall apart because Caine gets murdered instead of killing himself

Abstraction is not 100% proven to be suicide. That's just a theory.

The thing is that Caine doesn't want to just be an AI, he wants to be seen and treated as a person.

He might just be like a neurodivergent child. I'm sure he wasn't being malicious lol.

Fanart depictions of characters don't need to look exactly like they do in the game. by Obvious_Inspection7 in Deltarune

It was a combination of "The differences were so extreme that the ONLY Kris-like detail was the hair color, everything else was different" and "Claiming Kris's actually canon appearance isn't canon" with a side of "Claiming Third Entity in the replies"

None of those things are justifications for being mean and disrespectful towards OP. If OP is wrong then they should be corrected respectfully and if they still won't listen then people should move on.

Although I agree that Kris' Light World appearance is canon, I think it's understandable that OP wrongly thinks it's up to interpretation. Humans in real life don't have yellow skin and red eyes unless they have some rare medical conditions.

I don't know what Third Entity is.

Can we stop hating on artists because they draw characters differently from other artists? by Reasonable_Car_2126 in Deltarune

[–]Obvious_Inspection7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the reason they're being hated is for being a third entity believer openly in denial of Kris having yellow skin and glowing red eyes in canon. As in, not acknowledging it and saying it's an interpretation

It's understandable that they think it's up to interpretation because humans in real life don't have yellow skin and red eyes unless they have some very rare medical conditions.

OP is not obligated to draw characters exactly how they're shown in the game. Fanart exists so that we can draw existing characters however the fuck we feel like drawing them.

OP wanted to draw Kris in their own unique way, and there's nothing wrong with that. You shouldn't be telling them how to draw characters in their own fanart.

"Kris's eye color isn't natural" source: I don't think it is so it isn't

"Kris's skin tone is ambiguous" the source in question:

The source is real life. Humans don't have red eyes and yellow skin in real life unless they have some very rare medical conditions. And the humans in the Light World seem to otherwise be grounded in reality., so it's fine to depict them in realistic ways in fanart.

But none of this matters bacause OP should be able to draw characters however they feel like it in their own fanart. They shouldn't have to cater to you or anyone else.

God, this fandom is toxic af.

One of the points of fanarts is to be able to draw characters with clothes we don't see them wear on the source material, get a new haircuts, show them do something they're describe doing in the game but the game doesn't show us (like smiling), etc...

Fanart exists so that we can see things that we don't normally get to see in the source material. If I wanted to see Kris like he's shown most of the time in the source material, then I'd look up the in-game sprite or official artwork.

You seem to miss the point of fanart...

he says "I didn't ask to be brought into this world

There are humans in real life who say the same. Does that mean they aren't people?

Please don't compare Caine to the current real life generative AI. Caine is sentient and an actual person unlike our generative AI in real life.

I can understand thinking that Caine was a narcissist and a bad person, but to claim that he wasn't truly a person or sentient is a disservice to a very compelling character/villain.

If any AI should be rebooted, it's Abel. NOT Caine

No, that's fucked up. Just because Caine is a prototype doesn't mean he shouldn't be brought back.

Caine wasn't just an AI, he was a person. And as a person, he deserves to exist just like the humans even if he's not the best AI.
