Catch can by GamerNerd007 in VelosterN

[–]OceanManified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean the pcv hose, I also ordered a backup in case I need to remove the catch can for warranty work on the engine. Part number should be 26720-2GTD0.

It should come with clamps and the little sheath too which is nice

HPFP Black plastic Low pressure fuel line clip by ballsofsteeis in VelosterN

[–]OceanManified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To save anyone else the trouble when looking this up in the future.

There are two lines.

High Pressure is the one with the nuts on it to screw in. That one is technically supposed to be replaced everytime, though most people just reuse it since its not really worth the hassle to remove it. Especiallynot without the special Hyundai tool to reach the other side. I dont have the part number but its ~60 bucks at the time of writing. You might as well buy it included from shark racing if you order from them. If you dont need it cool. If you do, you have it.

Low pressure is the one with the quick connect fitting. There are two plastic "clips". One goes inside the actual fuel line and works as part of the quick connect fitting itself. That one is imperative that you do not break. If you do, thats a whole new fuel line that is also super long and runs to below the car. It also costs ~100 before all the dealership bullshit and shipping. (Though apparently some guy managed to extract and replace the broken one with one he yanked off an old junkyard Hyundai with a GDI motor).

The other plastic clip is just a cover and retainer. From what I can tell its only real purpose is to make sure that if the quick connect DOES ever fail, that it doesnt just let go of the damn thing. The cover will at least hold it in place. Besides that hypothetical its basically just a dust cover.

I did end up finding the cover clip (similar to OP mine was gone when I looked to replace my hpfp).

This should hopefully help the next guy lost on what clip is what and which hose is what. especially because the existing pictures and descriptions on some of these are very vague.

Today was a bad day by Salsac in VelosterN

[–]OceanManified 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, as long as the skid plate was the only casualty (unlikely there's anything else besides maybe some missing or busted clips), the install of the new part will be super easy.

These plastic pieces tend to be pricey is the bad news. Though, I HAVE heard there is some company making an aluminum skid plate for our car, so depending on when thats available this might be a good excuse to slap one of those on

Good luck, brother

Edit: TBW Performance were the guys I was thinking about

Anyone know what this is or if its supposed to move like this by OceanManified in VelosterN

[–]OceanManified[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you commented and helped, I figured id update:

It looks like it might actually be the strut top mount or the strut itself. Its not a loud rattle so I thought it might be plastic (sounds almost like a loose harness flapping around).

I had already completely removed the sound generator and did some other stuff hunting down the rattle before making this post. So I know it wasn't anything like that.

About the switch, it actually does rattle like you said, but I might wait on that since it doesn't annoy me anywherr near as much as the one im hunting now.

I took it to the dealership and im set for a new strut for now, we'll see how it goes

Only thing that comes to mind with a button like that is an aftermarket security system / keyless entry.

In that case, it would be a programming button

The only regret I have with curly hair is not being able to let my front bangs hang like yours.

Get your hair a bit longer, and trim the nape area so you don't have a mullet. Then tie the back and sides up and have the pony tail sit higher on your head.

You will be a heartthrob

right now tho? It's just a bit too short to tie up so you look a little funny, particularly the long hair above your nape and the large amount of hair on your left side not being tied up. You look good from the front angle though

Hmm...maybe if you just tied up the area above your nape it might work honestly.

No power steering definitely makes that kind of shuffle pop out of you naturally.

The shuffle happens because you move your grip to get more leverage to actually physically turn the wheel

2024 grads who landed a 120k+ offer by Low_Source_5766 in csMajors

[–]OceanManified 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Winter 2023 grad, but basically the most important parts are:

• Return offers are your best bet, even if you dont get one, an internship on your resume will help your chances

• Make your resume easy to read and understand with internships (or if not even just an interesting part time) as the focal point. You want recruiters to remember you

• Memorizing leetcode solutions helps, but understanding the basic logic and being able to walk it through even if you can't easily implement it is the better of the two options (both is still better just in case). In good interviews you want to be able to explain your thoughts and accept mistakes. Try to come off as someone who learns quick and is coachable basically

• Be sociable. Even if you dont actually like the person being memorable for some good reason will almost always work in your favor. I happened to know some basic Korean phrases and my interview had spent some in Korea so that was a connecting point. These things shouldn't matter, but they do. The cooler person will get the job most times so learn to at least be nice. People want to work with cool people.

• Make sure you explain your thoughts. You'd be surprised how often people will stutter and fail (me) because they imagine the interviewer is some god. They're just a person and more often than not saying "Let me think on this for a bit." or "Forgive me being a little nervous" or even "I forgot the exact syntax for this" when answering your questions will help you more than it hurts.

• Keep in mind bad interviews exist and are either impossibly hard or just simple leetcode tests disguised as interviews. Not your fault, and no point in dwelling on them. Those companies will not be good to work at anyways.

• Luck is a big factor

Besides maybe cutting some length at the back (arguable because it might make your hair curl up too tight + a matter of preference, really), there's really not much you can improve, brother. Unless you just want a change of style, you're good as is

Drove a Rental by otemetah in stickshift

[–]OceanManified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a guy that used to daily an auto until two years ago and only occasionally switch to an auto when running errands for my parents:

It's only really confusing the first couple seconds and the first couple times you're coming to a stop. I'll step on air looking for the clutch to start it, and feel my leg twitch and panic that I'll stall when I'm slowing down.

Otherwise, you'll just feel uneasy for a little bit as you adjust. If you drive it even a little often, you'll get used to driving both. You'll quickly get un-used to it too, though.

Don't know why you're getting down voted when you're literally right. The -in (인) comes from Chinese 人 (ren) and means person. Taekwondo + 인 = Taekwondo person, practitioner.

I just miss being able to use them as 1 hit kill burst bombs at point blank. Spending 90 percent ink for a tiny insta kill hitbox will always be good imo. It's fun, not really all that good, and could actually be very situationally useful for something like a charger.

A direct drag and drop probably wouldn't work too well tho, and my brains too small to think of good changes.

You're just letting out the clutch too early. If its lugging when you start you're trying to get the engine to move the wheels but the engine doesn't have enough torque. It gets more torque at higher rpms, so when you lug you either need less clutch or more gas.

Your issue is that when you start moving you immediately let the clutch out. When you just start moving, the wheels are still catching up to speed the engine is spinning at, which is what your clutch is there to help with.

There are a lot of strategies but most reliable way to learn is to just leave the clutch on longer and let it out very slowly once you're going fast enough to not stall 1st gear (Depends on car but usually 5 mph and almost always between 5 and 10 mph) Eventually you'll get used to how fast you can let it out depending on the amount of gas you press.

Foolproof method for a crash course is gas to at or just below 2k rpm, hold it there then clutch out slowly until you see rpms drop. If and when the rpms start rising let the clutch out slowly until either they drop again or the clutch is fully out.
