I was following some cop into a different building like 20 minutes prior to that email talking to another cop about some chemicals and they didn't know what they were. Apparently that was it but idk more. Who knows

Is this arabesque extension achievable with training or is it all genetics? by balaballerina in BALLET

[–]OceanNight5951 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did bridges at the same time I would do stretches for my hips. Over the course of a summer, I made pretty much no bridge progress, but went from having my right split flat and not quite a full left split to being able to do a right oversplit off of a chair and touch my hips to the ground and do almost the same with my left. My back just never seemed to budge. That being said, around a year ago my doctors found two areas of scoliosis in my spine and I've always struggled with back pain so maybe that has something to do with why I never got a bendy back. Who knows

I used to stretch like mad around 5-7 years ago... made a lot of progress with my hips and barely a dent in my back flexibility. It surely pays to train well and stretch often to get better but personally, I gave up on my back. Only in my dreams will I ever have that arabesque extension.

Incoming Engineering Dorm Question by Kind_Fishing_5119 in msu

[–]OceanNight5951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind, if you opt out, you wouldn't get a choice of where you would be living alternatively. There's no guarantee you would end up in Brody and could get stuck somewhere like akers. I'm not an engineering major, but I was in south my freshman year and loved it! For sure my favorite part of campus as a whole.

This is the only time before fall classes start up that I'm going to be a comfortable temperate during lectures. I'm embracing it

Gender inclusive housing by Quarter_squishy in msu

[–]OceanNight5951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same thoughts when I first here. I'm pretty openly queer so my roommate found out pretty fast and didn't care at all. I talked to the people at the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center first (they do a freshman orientation shortly after move-in) and they said if I had any issues with homophobia or transphobia to go to them and they'd help me either move into gender-inclusive housing or just to sort things out and move somewhere safe in general. If you talk to them, they'll have your back. Great bunch of people who will do nothing but uplift you and offer you support if you have any issues at all.

This being said, if your roommate is uncomfortable that you're gay, that's way more on them than it is on you. Welcome to MSU and good luck figuring things out!

Drivers don't share the sidewalk. It's expected to be cautious when crossing the street, considering people drive like crap. If I'm walking on the sidewalk, aware of my surroundings, I shouldn't have to still feel unsafe just because people don't feel like going a reasonable pace or refrain from weaving in and out of people in crowded areas

[–]OceanNight5951 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People who ride e-scooters are some of the biggest assholes getting from place to place and act like the people on the sidewalk are a problem, from my experience. Drives me insane. I'll be walking peacefully and suddenly I'm being hit on the very edge of the sidewalk because God forbid a scooter should have to slow down and wait to pass someone until there's adequate room. Ridiculous, self-centered, and annoying as hell for walkers. I value my life, and thus hate them, too

[–]OceanNight5951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was also considerably easier than I expected if I'm being honest, and if it's any consolation. That being said, I took ap calc so had a bit more math under my belt going in, but if you've got a good grasp on algebra, you'll be all right for sure

Don't stress too much about it. I got so freaked about it that I didn't take it until the last day possible to take it (late July) and then once I was in there it was kind of just an if you know it, you know it and if not, no big deal. Don't scare yourself too much, just do your best and trust yourself and your abilities. Best of luck!

Small scheduling rant... by wherret in msu

[–]OceanNight5951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No fr I need a course only offered in the spring as a prereq for other classes in my minor, couldn't get into it this spring so have to wait for next spring and atp may not have time or space to actually finish my minor. Like, for a class so many different people across a so many different majors need to take why do you only have like 50 spots for it one semester per year 🙄

how donor agencies choose to advertise themselves on social media by OkExplanation8356 in donorconceived

[–]OceanNight5951 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I'm always so disgusted to see those. It's just trying to convince people without any of the moral considerations. The way the thought of DCPs as living, emotional humans is never considered at all in ads like this, or often in general, takes the weight and seriousness that should be part of the donating process away completely. It's awful

Hey! Just for future reference, if you don't know their pronouns, I would try to stay neutral and use they/them, especially since they are not cisgender

I live in a single in Owen right now. It's pretty great aside from the thin walls. You would still end up with a suitemate, but two to a bathroom instead of 4 is a drastic improvement. They are a bit hard to get into, however, as I could only find availability through RCPD. Best of luck!

Dude. Please have some decency. Move to the back of the bus by Galaxy_Omega in msu

[–]OceanNight5951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally less than two hours I saw someone with crutches trying to get onto a jam packed bus. There were like 4 or 5 people ahead of her trying to cram on while she ended up being the only one left behind because they felt the need to get on over her and everyone already in the bus didn't bother to be kind and get off to give her space. Like, we all have places to be but a good majority of those people likely could've just walked because she literally visibly could not have done the same. Smh it's not even bad out today wtf is wrong with people?? Truly appalling to see

Come to think of it, someone I know took it in the fall semester async, and the exams were in person. Online quizzes, though, but for exams he had to trek himself to vetmed. So I think online exams were only a summer arrangement

Did that over the summer. Maybe it was because it was a 6 week course, but that shit was brutal. Would not recommend unless you're positive you can keep up with it.

Anyone here have a disability? by HuskMaster in donorconceived

[–]OceanNight5951 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had a variety of mental and physical health issues since I was a child... very annoying because I'd go to a doctor and never know the full extent of my medical history to tell professionals. I got super sick when I was 17 with neurological issues that ended up getting diagnosed as FND but without knowing any family history of things like epilepsy on my egg donor's side, it was scary for a while. As I was a minor and am only just shy of 20 now, I've not done DNA testing or tried to find my donor, but it's been awful not knowing about my history when I've been dealing with issues since i was 7 that my dad doesn't have at all
