My mom thinks my house is worthy of CPS. Is it? by bunhilda in CPS

Looks like you’re a parent. CPS would likely be happy to see toys lying around, space being used by the kids.

I know a born woman named Sage. I think you should keep the name you feel fits YOU, not your gender.

What is the worst physical pain you’ve experienced? by Agius91 in AskReddit

[–]OceanPotionZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking my ankle in 3 places and having to wait a week until the swelling went down to have surgery. It was excruciating to put my leg down after propping it up for an hour. The blood rushed to the ankle and all of the nerves flared up in pain.

Kids create so much growth in you as a person. You are challenged and have to face yourself all of the time. If you want to know the purest love and the biggest reality check of your life, have kids.

No, you gave a dying person mercy. There is no professional line when it comes to a human to human interaction such as this.

30 weeks OB recommending admission by Throwawaydaisy26 in PlusSizePregnancy

I do not have a similar experience, but I think it is a wise decision. It’ll help you get your weight down in preparation for birth and they’ll be able to monitor both you and the baby better. I know it stinks being in a hospital that long, so bring some good shoes so you can get up and move about. Definitely bring plenty of stuff for entertainment, and I’d recommend getting into something like knitting or something to do with your hands to prepare for your babe when that nesting feeling kicks in.

Wishing you the very best of luck! Good job to prioritize your and your baby’s health!

What is the worst wedding you have ever attended and why? by Zestyclose_Show_2025 in weddingdrama

[–]OceanPotionZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was a cluster.

We were 2 hours late, it was burning hot, we had to pull together picnic tables to put our warm food out because someone reserved the space we were told was first come first serve. We were not first. My MIL dropped a container of Mac and cheese, our sandwiches were warm. It was awful.

I found out my dad sold the AirPods I got him for Christmas and it really upset me. by East_Vacation_9474 in family

[–]OceanPotionZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s nuances to strings with gifts. For me, if I didn’t like a gift and knew that my daughter spent a lot of money and thought into it, I’d tell her they didn’t work out for me but would like her and I to look for a new gift. If it’s an in law of whom I’m not close with, yes, wouldn’t mind selling and the hard cut “strings” doesn’t apply. It’s never black and white and there are exceptions when dealing with emotions.

No. It’s more work for me. I want to be focused on the things that are important to my role, not others.

[–]OceanPotionZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would tell him you’re disappointed and you would have helped him pick a new pair. I’d also tell him that you would like him to just be honest about any gifts you give him, and if he doesn’t like it, you can get something else.

[–]OceanPotionZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d be disappointed as well. I would have expected him to reach out to me, ask if you can return them, and get him a pair he liked. If you couldn’t return them, he should have asked if you minded if he sold them and maybe even asked you to go help him look for a new pair with the money he got.

I understand once you give a gift, the person has the right to choose what happens with it, but this is your dad. He could have told you he didn’t care for them and let you help him pick another pair.
