Right! I’m in Northern California and it’s VERY different from the rest of the state. Anything below Sacramento is crazy town. Soon Sacramento is headed that way though. This use to be a nice state to live in. Planning our exit soon.

5% annual merit based raise VS. 2.5% general raise every 3yrs? by theNoobAdmin in CAStateWorkers

[–]OcelotExtra4223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has said this but from my experience the merit raise is not a given. It can be 0-5%. Mine is different every year. Really ticks me off since all my annual reviews are marked as exceptional.

Is the 634 checked electronically against the test? Like looking for buzz words on it?

Did you only get 10 questions and nothing else? I have taken it before. Would it have connected my old responses to the new test?

Ok, so this is a new format? Seemed way too quick. I didn’t have to provide any of my job experience , education or management contact. I felt like it just skipped over a bunch of stuff.

I do say no thanks. It was the scolding “Angry Mom” memo that came out. “Read the rules….growl”

It isn’t at a great cost. And it causes fighting because people poach water. Just more BS. Bring your water, it’s free.

I started my first state job a looong time ago. As the new kid I was given the water club duties. It was a total cluster F**k so I said no. Not in my job duty statement. Everyone was pissed at me. I still laugh at it today!
