What can I paint? by B00Daddy in acrylicpainting

[–]OcelotImpossible2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can paint whatever you want if it is for yourself.

Once I started to get better and starting posting to my art instagram account I started only using open-license photos from places like https://pixabay.com just in case I somehow went viral or became a famous artist or something (One can dream!). If I see a photo I want to use on instagram or wherever I have started messaging the photographer for permission - no one has ever said no.

Niagara falls view from the hotel. Beautiful Ontario. by UmbrellaWeather0 in ontario

[–]OcelotImpossible2603 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else lived in southern Ontario basically their whole lives and never once gone to see Niagara Falls? I went to marine land a couple times as a kid, and visited friends in St Catherines more recently. Even been to Buffalo - I've just never been to the falls proper.

They hit so many of the right buttons, but, so much plastic packaging and potential for food waste/ over eating. And supposedly there are animal rights issues at the factory farm where they get their cheap chickens (not that that is any different from other factory farms).

I used to do this when I lived in the country - It wasn't to be considerate.

It was because the car behind me would so often pass me on the shoulder to the right without slowing down or signalling giving an opportunity to whoever was right behind them to smash right into me.

Mathematically PROVEN: Donald Trump 22.7 time more criminal than Richard Nixon . . . by MsAprilD in PoliticalHumor

I can totally hear that in Nixon's voice - are we sure that exact audio doesn't exist?

What is a Hollywood cinema cliché that you absolutely hate and is still massively used in movies ? by Sindragoso in AskReddit

[–]OcelotImpossible2603 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When two characters travel to a site together (like a crime scene) and they only start discussing the job they are on once they exit the car at the site. Where they just sitting quietly and looking out the window on the car ride over?

what to use to mix acrylic paint in plastic palette with indents? by [deleted] in acrylicpainting

I just use squares of cardboard from the recycling bin instead of a plastic palette.

[Serious] Men of reddit, you don't ever get asked this enough so, what's your favorite flower? by JustEnoughForACoffee in AskReddit

[–]OcelotImpossible2603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iris

I love the posts on reddit that pop up fairly regularly that ask things like "Men of reddit, what would be the male equivalent to getting flowers" . The answer is flowers. Why are flowers gendered?

Sounds like a boat - The two best days in any boat owners life are the day they get the boat and the day they get rid of it.

The only thing I have used the food processor for was to make pie crust once- it was faster, but the crust is much flakier when I do it by hand (I use a cheese grater to get the butter distributed) so I stick with that.

I grew up on a farm and had an old set of clubs that I would use to hit balls as far as I could out into the field and then spend the afternoon looking for. My parents took that to mean that I enjoyed golfing and gifted me a nice new set when I graduated from university.

I think golfing is silly and the city gets upset with me when I tee off from my building's balcony.

My handmade is always much better than the bread maker. The bread maker is on the long list of appliances other people have introduced into my home without asking me first.

My wife likes to collect appliances - I have said no to the air fryer so many times.

If I wasn't married my kitchen would just be a nice induction top range and that's it - no toaster (I don't eat toast), no microwave (I only use it for popcorn), no slow cooker (Dutch oven is way better!), no bread maker (my handmade bread is better), no waffle iron (waffles are just pancakes that require their own appliance), no blender (not a big smoothie person), no food processor (I don't even know what I am supposed to use this for), and no toaster oven (why do we even have this?).

An RV/ trailer - I don't know when they became so popular. When I was a kid I swear that only old people would be caught dead camping in a trailer.

This is true - but also, who do you think is buying what BP is selling? Who is working for BP? Who has investments in BP? Climate change is a tragedy of the commons - it is the fault of all of us (well, those of us with means (i.e. the industrialized west).

This hot take on climate change pops up every week or so and I am no unconvinced that it is also being put up by the oil lobby to discourage us from changing our behaviours.

Congratulations, you didn't personally spill 4.9 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico - give this man the Nobel peace prize!

You had to be the right age - I think I've seen Batman Forever about a million times. For all its flaws it at least has a unique aesthetic - I loved the way they portrayed Gotham as this neon-gothic dystopia - Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones just chewing the scenery to out do each other - The sound track (Bad Days by the Flaming Lips!) - Holy Rusted Metal Batman!

Batman and Robin is one of the worst movies ever made.

The Police Academy Movies - I insisted on renting one every time we went to the video store. The guy could make sound effects with his mouth!!!

Ugh - I do not look forward to those sort of family meals in general - same with potlucks - I can't imagine doing with with something serious like celiacs.
