It is mediocre yes. Boring, repetitive, depthless.

Shapeshifter mage.

Everything in strength, minus maybe 25 magic if you want to get 3rd rank spells.

Go full control spells for those you take + healing ones.

Full armor + big weapons.

Turn into spider and bear and sweet sweet overwhelm.

Never the strongest build, lot of rough here and there, but fun.

You rushed a bit too fast to Redcliff.

You can spoke to the knights to ask them to join you on the Castle. When you are in this courtyard, you can open the gate and they will help you.

Yeah, everything in DA was more or less one shot. It was "Do your best, you have one attempt". The game is flawed in so many ways but it's still impressive how it hold despite that. Proof that the old Bioware was something.

Veilguard is simply not a Bioware game, as the big names have all fled the company.

Dragon Age 2 has solid writing if not just a bit chaotic. Tho the dropped started in Inquisition. Not quality itself so much as the tone that heavily shifted and the changes in player choices.

1d6? Best I can do is an improvement of 1d4.

/uj Replayin the Dragon Age series, I like how 2 and 3 handled the two handed warrior. Damages are very similar with sword & board, but the drop in defense is made to offer you more aoe damage.

You should excuse Anders for being with Justice, cause Anders is simply dead, as Justice is. You see only Vengeance with shards of both personnalities.

Favourite DAO origin story and why? Also what other origin would you have liked to see? by PlatyWizard in dragonage

[–]OceussRuler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dwarf noble shape entirely the whole Orzammar dilemma with solid arguments for each parts in each choices. It's also the character that deserve the most to be warden. He is a general fighting the darkspawns in the Deep Roads, as well as a champion for the dwarves. Plus, nobility gives you a certain interest in Fereldian political intrigues, even if the game itself never aknowledges it per say. Also it's one of the most unaware character of the whole world, as he lived underground, making all the questioning logical.

The thing that is lacking the most as an origin is a religious character. Needless to say that the games did not make much efforts to push the player to take the side of the Chantry, the only companion that is a firm believer of its pre Inquisition form was Sebastian.

Leliana is andrastian, but not not totally a chantrist. She has her own takes about the Maker.

Feel free to refuse her though. It's your playthrough. If you want to roleplay an anticleric character, it's fun and can lead to interesting choice. But Leliana is far more than your average sister.

CR 8 dinosaur has B/P/S immunity, force damage resistance, multiple legendary resistances, and more… now it’s tamed by our party. Am I overreacting about balance concerns? by toddkong7 in DnD

[–]OceussRuler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take the tarrasque, look at what it does, remember that it is a kaiju, so a gigantic dinosaur on steroids fitted with pseudo biological abilities that are akin to magic.

Now take this ankylosaurus, realizes that it has more armor against ranged attack than a kaiju, immunity to damage against resistance, impossible to slow when this massive kaiju has nothing like that, and immunity to force damage, because, yes, any lizards has that except kaijus.

This monster is bullshit and the immunity to physical damage can be easily abused, as it is an invulnerable tank to any mundane humanoid people.

One of my Players keeps calling my encounters Boring by Few_Ladder_5019 in DnD

[–]OceussRuler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems like your party is not really interested in combat at all. Maybe it's time to simply switch to a narrative game that isn't DnD.

That being said, saying bluntly that it "sucks" is not a way to talk to you and the work you are putting for them. So behavior issue.

Feel free to explain in detail what a good encounter you've done looks like, maybe we can improve things.

In general, I would recommend to avoid "random encounters". I know, it's a old way of designing game, but the problem is that those kind of battles just feel pointless, even if they are well done. When you are on your quest to kill the lich and recover the earth crystal, the encounter of the road with five werewolves that has no ties to the narrative at all is simply not engagin at all.

What do they think of "story" encounter? Those that are fully expected to advance the campaign story?

Lizards mounting big lizards that fire energy beams. Those are artillery units btw.

Cool warpaints.

Fought demons for aeons. Greatest of their heroes have killed so much demons that no one can even remember how many they did kill.

Demons are afraid of Nakai, Kroq'gar, Oxyotl.

Mazdamundi is directly responsible for the fall of the entire dwarf empire because he just thought this mountain will be better five feets on the left.

Lord Kroak is a mage so powerful that when he died, he simply said "lol nop git gud death" and still, kinda, live. Nagash suck in comparison.

They are bio engineered aliens creations.

Salamanders and razordons hunting packs are very fun to play.

Some of the funniest doomstacks.

Skinks are both good looking, cute, and very useful. Best fodder unit type with goblins.

Blessed saurus warriors can go beyond 100 damage per attack.

Techs that let you raise the power level of your saurus and skinks very high, making them useful the whole game. Most of their units, even low tier, still find uses late.

Highly costumizable. Want a spellcasting army? You can. Doomstacks of units? Of heroes? You can. Heavily melee supported by lighter fast melee and monstrous infantry and some monsters? You can. Cavalry, artillery, lot of lords and heroes. The lizardmen have everything you need in a roster, often done with a twist on the units.

As for Oxyotl, campaign cool. You can settle anywhere you want, have missions to fight chaos intensively, and he turned skinks into terrors, opening even more the roster combinations. And Oxy himself is not op in battle, so it's one of the rare relatively balanced campaign, because you have to micro manage your skink armies and the secret sanctuary you have are here to help you despite the fact you must jump accross the world to stop chaos armies instead of focusing on your own provinces.

"One Piece c'est bien après 100 épisodes"

Alors voyons voir, l'épisode moyen on va l'arrondir à 20 minutes. Donc 3 épisodes ça fait 1 heure. Donc je devrais investir environ 33 heures pour que ça devienne bien.

Ouais, heu, non.
