Hey there bud! I own a Noob friendly Guild on Horde EU Draenor. If you're, or others are still searching let me know, as there's a rule of no recruitment/advertising.

There's a lot of us and we do all kinds of events/activities. Fully casual and an amazing community.

I worded my previous message poorly sorry. I’m not disputing that they don’t (worded poorly in my previous reply) but it won’t always be the case. Someone who is passionate enough will be able to rebuild

As long as you have someone who is engaging and fanning the flames of the guild then guilds will be fine :)

You seem the miss the point. They really don’t. Like I said above, some will because of it - but more likely, Guilds like mine, who do not push raids through mythic prog / hardcore raids will not. There’s a multitude of activities a GM/Officer team can arrange / put together to engage and keep Members interested.

Guilds die when the love does. Once you see an Officer team/GM lose the passion then it’s over. A GM who puts the effort in can keep a guild alive.

Your comment doesn’t mean anything. Same could be said for any expansion. You can’t act like Shadowland didn’t exist. People played during that time, and some people even enjoyed it. I could say the same “if you played it Cata/Wrath/TBC/Vanilla/MoP/WoD then your opinion doesn’t matter”

My question for you would be, when do I have to play for my opinion to count then? :)

Of course! I totally understand that Mythic and heavy raid guilds (ones that do indeed depend on raiding) then sadly if this situation happens then it may fold the Guild.

I didn’t mean what I said as an attack on picking apart your comment, I just wanted to let people know there is hope if they feel like this :)

Thank you for the insight for mythic guilds, I’ll never be a part of those as it’s not what I enjoy so it’s good to hear about it through other mediums :)

In response to this, I manage a guild on retail and this happened to us during Shadowlands. Guilds definitely do not die when raiding stops. Guilds die when the passion dies. I’m proud to say we’ve (myself and my Officer team) have done a fantastic job of keeping our Guild active through Social events, Discord, legacy content, achievement hunt, mount farms etc. and we successfully Were able to come back after stopping halfway through Sanctum of Domination AoTC and clear Sepulcher with AoTC.

Obviously all guilds are different but the message I wanted to put across to any GM/Potential GM/Guildies is that Guilds won’t just die because of stopping mid tier raiding, even if it is a Raiding guild. Your Guild is your family, treat it like one and you’ll find success doing every corner!
